- Nick@Nite Summer of Favorites
Starts Monday, July 17, 2006
Mon-Fri 10p-2a and 2a-6a in July and August
NewsRadio and A Different World to premiere in marathons.
Nick@Nite welcomes News Radio to its roster with a “soft launch” during the Summer of Favorites marathon. “NewsRadio" explores office politics, relationships, and crises through a group of co-workers at WNYX NewsRadio, New York's #2 newsradio station. There’s the haggled news director, sniping anchor people, an ambitious supervising producer, the station's eccentric owner and a cast of others who make each broadcast an event not to be missed. News was never so fun and entertaining!
Dwayne, Whitley and even Denise Huxtable are among the different characters who converge on Hillman College to learn about life and themselves. It’s big laughs on campus at the fictional historically Black university as they struggle to make it through college while dealing with family, friends, and college-themed issues such as racism, fraternity pledging and on-campus romances. Tune in and see how it truly is “a Different World than where you come from”.

- Hi-Jinks Season 2B
Tuesdays, starting Tuesday July 11 through August 15.
9:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET/PT
Hi-Jinks is back this summer with all new episodes! Guest pranksters include TV vets Ted McGinley, John Schneider, and Alphonso Ribiero, as well as daytime and nighttime star Corbin Bernsen and American Idol Bo Bice. There’s even a prank that takes place at Sonic Burger.
7/11/06 #013 – Ted McGinley
Hi-Jinks delivers its most explosive prank yet with the help of Ted McGinley and a Civil War cannon. Also, kids are shocked and surprised by spiders, a defective waterbed, money that literally grows on trees, and a crazy copy machine that serves up pizza.
TBD:
#014 – John Schneider
Find out what breaks loose when John Schneider tries a hazardous stunt, Dukes-style. There are also pranks involving an over-zealous crossing guard, an ice cream machine that goes haywire, a Panda bear that steals candy, and a messy experience at a salad bar.
#015 – Alphonso Ribiero
Start your engines, because in this episode, a monster truck goes on a rampage, and Fresh Prince's Alphonso Ribiero puts a motorcycle through incredible moves like a daredevil stunt driver. Also featured: a clown looking for revenge, a machine that grants unusual wishes, and a baseball instructor with a strange and unique teaching style.
#016 – Sonic Burger
Watch what happens when a trip to Sonic Burger turns into a feast of confusion and comedy. Other pranks in this episode include a game show with quirky prizes, a pedicure salon full of surprises, a "magical" brick wall, and a wacky courtroom case over who gets $100,000 for being the millionth person to park in a parking space.
#017 – Corbin Bernsen
The legend of Big Foot comes to life on Hi-Jinks, and it's up to Corbin Bernsen and some other dads to capture the beast. if he's really real. Also: strange things show up in a father's ex-ray, kids have to finish a timed exam where the clock is rigged to go very fast, a crazy clown returns, and a house for sale appears to be haunted.
#18 – Bo Bice
In musical Hi-Jinks, Bo Bice brings his band along to prank kids into thinking their dads are rising rock stars. Other pranks include kids having to take calls on their own radio talk shows, the challenge of outsmarting a brainy chimp, an uncontrollable water hose, and the effects of sudden celebrity on an unsuspecting teen.
TVJunkie101 05-16-2006, 03:35 PM Ouch at Newsradio's timeslot.
Glad to see ADW!!
Pav, any idea how Mad about You is doing? It's actually staying in it's timeslot?
TVFactFan 05-16-2006, 03:37 PM Who the hell will be watching FULL HOUSE on a Friday Night after Midnight?
TVFactFan 05-16-2006, 03:38 PM Ouch at Newsradio's timeslot.

I will have to record NewsRadio because I want give it a chance since i like Workplace Comedies
troopoleon8897 05-16-2006, 06:51 PM wow real bad slot for newsradio...
EmoJoe 05-16-2006, 07:06 PM they might as well not even add NewsRadio -_-
and pissed: at MAY's latenight marathon...at least it's got a good weekend timeslot though.
i LOVE fresh prince, it's probably my favorite show on Nick@Nite now that WTB? is gone...but they could've at least given up one of the marathons for MAY/NewsRadio. it's getting 3 marathons, taking 1 away won't kill them.
Adamantium 05-16-2006, 10:25 PM I won't get mad at NewsRadio's timeslot, since I have most of the show on DVD. However, since NewsRadio's not been on TV in a while and A Different World is on Oxygen right now, they should be giving the primo timeslot to NewsRadio.
And what's with the hour blocks of Full House, Roseanne and Fresh Prince. Back in the day when N@N would add a show, it would (for the most part) get a nice slot early in their lineup, like from 9-11.
I too am curious to see how "Mad About You" is doing. I didn't think it would do well, but I'm kind of hoping it is.
SBTB Geek 05-17-2006, 02:51 AM What's up with N@N taking Lifetime's garbage? What's next "Frasier"?
Pavan 05-17-2006, 08:54 AM NewsRadio and A Different World were never on Lifetime, lol.
EmoJoe 05-17-2006, 05:06 PM and holy crap, who thought we'd ever see the day TCS would get only one marathon- and a LATENIGHT one at that?
TVFactFan 05-17-2006, 06:12 PM and holy crap, who thought we'd ever see the day TCS would get only one marathon- and a LATENIGHT one at that?
TCS should defintely have Full House's spot

Each week features a celebrity prank segment in which famous faces use their talents to play tricks on bewildered tikes. Actors Ted McGinley (Hope & Faith), John Schneider (Smallville), Alfonso Ribeiro (Fresh Prince of Bel Air), Corbin Bernsen (L.A. Law) and Bo Bice (American Idol) are among the celebrities who have conspired with parents to prank kids.
ACQUISITIONS
Newsradio
Monday, July 17, 2 a.m. – 6 a.m., ET/PT
Will air in its regular timeslot of 4 a.m. ET/PT
Join Nick at Nite as it adds this comedy showcasing the hilarious antics at WNYX -- a whimsical #2 all news radio station in New York City -- to its lineup. Dave Nelson (Dave Foley) has just been brought in from Wisconsin as the news director by the station’s owner, Jimmy James (Stephen Root). A bit overwhelmed by his new job, Dave must also deal with his new co-workers who are rather eccentric and witty. The staff includes: on air-anchors Bill (Phil Hartman) and Catherine (Khandi Alexander) who are constantly sniping at each other, Matthew (Andy Dick) an inept reporter, Beth (Vicky Lewis), a crazy secretary and Joe (Joe Rogan), the maintenance man. Rounding off the staff is Lisa (Maura Tierney), a smart and ambitious writer who actually should have gotten Dave’s job. The two end up beginning an on-gain off-again romance that becomes the hot topic of conversation among their friends and colleagues. The untimely death of Phil Hartman led the show to cast Jon Lovitz in 1998 as Max Lewis, a new on-air personality.
A Different World
Wednesday, July 19, 2006, 10 p.m.- 2a.m. ET/PT
Will air in its regular timeslot of 10 p.m., every Saturday and Sunday
Nick at Nite welcomes this ensemble comedy to the network beginning Wednesday, July 19 with a marathon from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. ET/PT. Set at the fictitious, historically black Hillman College, it centered around Denise Huxtable (Lisa Bonet), one of the four daughters on The Cosby Show. Denise is constantly trying to adjust to the changes of living away from home on her own as well as deal with her roommates Jaleesa (Dawnn Lewis), a young divorcee and Maggie (Marisa Tomei), a free-spirited and naïve girl who also happens to be one of the only white students on campus. Other characters in the series include Whitley Gilbert (Jasmine Guy), a rich Southern belle; Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison), a nerdy but fast-talking New Yorker, his best friend Ron Johnson (Darryl Bell) and Walter Oakes (Sinbad), who was the dorm director. There were various changes after the first season when Lisa Bonet left the series. Several new characters were added, such as: Kim Reese (Charnele Brown), a pre-med student; Mr. Gaines (Lou Myers), the cafeteria cook; Col. Taylor (Glynn Turman), the campus ROTC commander; Freddie Brooks (Cree Summer), an environmental activist and Lena James (Jada Pinkett), a feisty freshman from Baltimore. The series also gave more prominence to the romantic relationship of Dwayne and Whitley, who became the show’s main stars and who eventually married.

Nick at Nite Originals produced Fatherhood, an animated series based on Bill Cosby’s best-selling book of the same name. Nick at Nite also produced Hi-Jinks, the network’s hidden-camera series in which adults play good-natured pranks on kids of all ages, which returns to the network with new episodes in July 2006. Last May, Darlene Westgor was crowned “The Funniest Mom in America” when the network aired the very first Nick at Nite’s Search for the Funniest Mom in America. Rubi Nicholas was selected as this year’s winner of Funniest Moms 2, a five-part reality series which aired this Spring.
Heather987 05-28-2006, 02:47 AM Well my N@N days are over. First it was too much of TCS and now they are overdoing it with Fresh Prince. They should limit the shows to one marathon per week and make room for other shows that arent show on other channels. I miss the good ole days when they had a variety and not the same shows everyone else seems to have.
Guess WTB wasnt doing very well.

While, I agree with you, it would be way to expensive to lease out a bunch of shows for just two months, however there is a simple way to make it not so over used...
Full House 9-10 Week Long (12 Episodes a week, HiJinks 9:30 on Tuesdays and Sundays)
Mad About You - Sundays (16 Episodes a week)
Murphy Brown - Mondays (16 Episodes a week)
Roseanne - Tuesdays (16 Episodes a week)
NewsRadio - Wednesdays (16 Episodes a week)
The Cosby Show - Thursdays (16 Episodes a week)
A Different World - Fridays (14 Episodes a week)
The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air (14 Episodes a week)
and Yes WTB wasn't doing very well and that was known but it left cause its contract ran out
NASHMAN 05-29-2006, 05:19 PM IT doesn't matter for me since I taped NewsRadio when it was on in syndication in May of 2000 and on A&E from October 2000-Feburary of 2001. I have all 97 episodes of the show and it has no credit crunches.
Pavan 06-08-2006, 04:15 PM N@N will air a movie on Friday, July 7 from 10p-12a
What a Girl Wants (TV-G)
17-year old free spirit Daphne Reynolds (Amanda Bynes), raised by her equally free-spirited mother, goes to England to meet her father, who turns out to be a wealthy aristocrat (Colin Firth). Daphne then must struggle with a snobby half-sister and with following the social obligations, expected of her while maintaining her own identity.

I figured it. The Cosby Show is on the down fall on N@N. I guess it is time. By this point, I wish they'd go back to a normal schedule. These marathons are getting worse. I mean N@N use to be known for marathons for July & August, now its all the time. Even though I LOVE Roseanne & Fresh Prince to death, I am getting tired of the overplay on N@N.
I never liked Roseanne, but I'm really starting to hate it. It and FPOBA are ruining N@N....And to think I thought it was bad when they added Coach!!
Cosby 4x a night is starting to look good again!

TVJunkie101 07-11-2006, 05:14 PM At least Murphy Brown is staying on ... I'm trying to get all of the episodes I can since it most likely won't have future DVD releases ... And even though A Different World airs on Oxygen, I'm glad N@N picked it up. I've always liked that show.
Speaking of that I wish S2 would freaking come in the mail. I STILL haven't gotten it for review.

Great Time Slot for ADW and I'm still sick that Roseanne is on 21 times a night

Roseanne & TFPOBA both have 5 airings a night, Roseanne has nine seasons and TFPOBA has six seasons, so TFPOBA is more rediculous for having a shorter amount of episodes and airing the same amount as a longer running series plus 3 marathons a week (29 Episodes a week) where as roseanne only has 2 marathons a week (21 Episodes a week) It would take 9+ weeks to get through the whole series where TFPOBA will take -6 weeks to get through...
I really don't agree with it either but lessen TFPOBA to not just Roseanne they should use 2 airings a night for each show, and on Sunday add an ep a piece of Roseanne and TFPOBA seeing as they are the most popular shows
9:00PM Sundays Full House

Adamantium 07-18-2006, 03:13 PM Even though I have the first four (out of five) seasons of "NewsRadio" on DVD, it was still a thrill to see it on N@N complete with the logo in the corner. It feels like it's finally made it - even though it probably hasn't.
I've noticed the edits are the same ones from my local syndicate a few years ago. They even show the short opening credits. For the first couple of seasons, those edits are probably the best. But seasons three, four and five, appeared for the most part uncut with the A&E edits.
Because they're using the syndication edits, I wonder if they'll include the scene that was cut out of NBC, A&E and even the DVDs. The scene from "Injury" in which Bill asks Dave about a fine, "Total?" and Dave replies "Per 'penis'." My local syndication channel aired that scene intact, and so far it's the only one that ever has. So I'll be looking for that scene when N@N shows it.

Yeah. When I heard it was coming to N@N I thought how great it was going to be that people who hadn't seen the show would finally get to watch it. And then N@N pulls this, showing it at 2am and then on the weekends at 4am.
They aired all of season one last night (S1 is only 7 episodes). so next week should be the second episode of season 2 on. The John Ritter episode should air next week also. It's episode 12. "The Shrink".

It airs next Monday night (early Tues) at 2:30 a.m. on N@N.

That's right. When I said it would be the 2nd episode from season two on, I didn't take into account the weekend airings.
On the DVD commentary, the cast and crew said that John Ritter was one of their favorite guest stars. There's even a blooper on the gang reel, where John Ritter and Dave Foley kiss. The audience goes crazy and John Ritter turns to them and shouts "Welcome to NewsRadio!" He was a funny guy.
