I don't get any sick time. Just if I can get someone to work for me. Sound better than it really is. Not being able to just not be there is a pain in the butt.

I don't get sick hours at my job either (don't have benefits or any of that fancy schmancy stuff that those crazy real jobs have :snob:), but it's surprisingly easy to take off of work. I just need to get it covered in advance, and if I absolutely cannot get the shift covered, my bosses are usually quite helpful that way. I rarely take off, though.

With school, it's even easier...I just don't go and pay for it later. Good ol' college :p

Well, today was Senior Cut Day. It's really against the rules cuz duh, you're not supposed to cut school, but we had our Senior Prom on Saturday, and it's considered tradition at our school that the seniors cut the Monday after prom.

I cut today, but it turned out that I really did get sick. :( So I have to miss school tomorrow too.

But I honestly do only call in sick when I really am sick.

Since I have started to work at my college six years ago, I have a little over 400 hours of sick leave. I rarely used them during the first years, so they accumulated. We get more hours every September 1st (for the academic school year). And, they are paid hours.

I have used some of the hours when I was sick a few times or had a really terribly unbearable headache. When I've gone on a week vacation out of town, I have used some of those sick hours when I didn't have enough personal leave for the vacation hours.

Senior Cut Day? Senior SKIP Day? You people are all wrong!!

It's Senior Ditch Day, and I'll be taking that one to my grave with me.

I bet you're the same kinds of people who say "soda" instead of "pop", too...;)

 Actually I call it pop and I call it Senior Skip Day. And since where I went to school, prom was after the seniors last day of school Senio Skip Day was the Friday before the last day.

I was never one to call in sick to work. I only did that a handful of times. I'd go in sick and leave early.

If someone has a cold, they're really doing a disservice to their colleagues by going to work.

If I had a soar throat I wouldnt be going to school that day....hah or atleast first or second period, but when it comes to work, even if I feel sick I will show but let my managers know that I am not feeling well and if I could leave a little early then that would be great, I am sure if I was throwing up I would call in...but since I work at a retail store (I'm not out of college so I dont need a real job) then I try not too

I dunno, Senior "Skip" Day just sounds so...I dunno. Prissy.

"Ditch" sounds so much more hardcore and rule breaking. Skip makes me think of some cutesy girl in a dress with blonde hair going like "Ooh I'm so NAUGHTY because I'm skipping school today! Shhh. Tee hee!" :rotflmao:
