I am not the biggest fan of the show. I don't watch it a whole lot but when I do watch it I do enjoy it. Glad to see its getting another season even if it is just 13 episodes

New news:
"The King of Queens returns for a ninth season. But it will not air until January at the earliest and is expected to be paired with new comedy Rules of Engagement, about a single guy, his engaged friends and a married couple. How I Met YourMother is expected to fill King's Monday 8 p.m. ET/PT slot."

first timer over here...here is a bit more info. about next season...with link.

"Besides the movie, CBS is canceling the comedy "Out of Practice." The long-running comedy "King of Queens" is not on the fall schedule, but will return in midseason for its last year".

...order HALF a season of new episodes, and bring it back in January. That's very dangerous for an 'anchor' like "THE KING OF QUEENS", whose loyal audience keeps tuning in at 8pm(et) on Mondays. What happens if "HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER" DOESN'T pull in the same number of loyal viewers a half-hour earlier?

I would have ordered a FULL season, and given Kevin and Leah whatever they wanted. CBS' attempt at "cheapness" may cost them their advantage on Mondays......we shall see!

Yeah, that's true. This might end up hurting them, but I don't think they had much of a choice. They wouldn't have been able to start filming for the fall, due to Kevin's movie commitments.

What the he** are you talking about? The CBS "advantage" on Monday is due to CSI: Miami and Two & A Half Men. They're what is making CBS # 1 on that night, not KoQ, How I Met Your Mother or Old Christine. As long as they've got those two on at 9 and 10 pm, CBS is set to continue to do well on Monday. They don't need to unload the bank for Kevin and Leah to win the night. Surely you see that, right? I mean, CBS only has four TOTAL new shows announced for fall this year, they're doing THAT well. lol

KOQ gets so little respect; the article talks about the stations changing to dramas because they can't hit with new comedies. Well why dont they stick with a proven comedy hit and make a full season? I'd take a good comedy over any murder/cop drama show. I don't know why people like to see all that crap week after week?

Edit: I won't watch any other CBS show religiously. Also, anyone know why they can't go a full season and air re-runs from the early seasons (the best shows) since most people weren't in that show in those seasons?

So, they're not coming back in the *fall* because Kevin's movie? Or is that just part of the reason?
