What does everyone want to be once they "grow up"? And for those that are "grown up", what is your dream career that you really wanted to be when you were younger?

I really want to be a writer!

Journalist! Either at a huge newspaper, or a local or national news program.

not sure really i wanna have a huge house in hollywood hills, or burbank, travel a lot BUT that proabley wont happen so

i know i like to be center of attention so actress or working with movies or to be on tv maye a news reporter, but then there is a always a part of me thats wants to be a cop, but whatever it is i do i want to have be something that i look forward to doing and enjoy it, and not want to fall back asleep

MEEEEEEEE TOOOOOOOOOOOOO since i was like 7 or 8 i have wanted to be a cop....When I found out that Lifetime was doing a women's cop show I got soooooooooo excited and then I found out that Nancy was in it and then I got SUPER EXCITED! I wanna work as a resource officer at a school to help troubled kids!

I have one year in college left and I'm going to be applying to grad school and looking at jobs simultaneously. I'm a history and poli sci major and I want a Master's in Public Administration and I will get it even if means going to school part-time and working. Most of the classes for the MPA are offered at night too which is a definite plus. Anyway, I want to work for local governments and maybe state or federal government depending on the job. No plans to work for the state of KY though! My one friend said she could envision me as a mayor somewhere. I really don't have any limits on this job search either because I could live just about anywhere except really far south or far north because of the weather extremes. Keeping my options open....

I want to be a country singer. But I cant sing....

I want to be a director of movies when i growup. i have wanted to do this for like ever! if i can't do that i will be an artist or a hair dresser! if i can't do that i want to be a clothes stylest. i could go on but i will stop there!

The jobs I think would be awesome but that I will never have are astronaut, music video director, or an artist who works on album covers or animation.

Ok. Most people think that my choices are very stupid and it'll take me until i'm 30 to become what I wanna be and they tell me that my profession has the highest suiside rate. But anyways, i want to be either a pediatric cardiothorastic surgeon or a psychiatrist.

I really like science and would like to be a scientist and I kind of like would like to be a meteroligist- ( a person who studies weather) and I also like music a lot but I really don't know what I would like to be yet but I am still very young and I am not even in high school yet, only in middle school now but I will someday I'll have to get a career.

When I was younger, I always wanted to be a meteorologist. I would sit and watch the Weather Channel for hours. Then I got to college and realized I was too dumb to do that (too much math and science), so then I went into journalism. Nope, not for me, so then I was going to be a speech and drama teacher since I love to act, but teaching isn't for me either, so now my big asperation is to be a fiction writer. My dream job would be to write and star in my own dramadie, but that's really never going to happen. I might not even get a book published. Sigh...

Maybe I could be a police dispatcher... like that girl on Adam-12.

If I could do anything -- anything at all -- I'd want to do something creative that has to do with the film industry.

Directing would *really* suit my bossy nature. Writing would give me a chance to tell some new stories and if not those... then I'd settle for being a respected and adored film critic.(The "respected and adored" part of that last one is crutial!<grin> )

I have my choices to do three things. First and foremost I have always dreamed of being an RN and working in the ER. Second I would like to be a Foresnic Scientist that field of science intrest me I would love to solve murder cases. Third I would love to be a Cop ever since I started watching the Division I thought oh that looks fun but I have 1 year of high school left before I decide.

I had no idea what I wanted to be when I "grew up". I basically just stumbled through school taking subjects cos I felt like taking them, not because I thought they'd help me towards acheiving success in any particular career. I got good results in all my exams but I didn't go on to university or college - I decided just to get a job (cos money was - and basically still is - all I was interested in).
After stumbling around, bored for 3 months, I took the first job I was offered. I now work as a trainee for an accounting firm - AND I HATE IT!
I like being able to say to people "oooh, I'm gonna be an accountant", cos although accountants have a reputation for being boring, I at least sound like I'm doing something worthwhile and making big money.
Basically, I'm nothing more than an Office Monkey - a drone.
Every day, on my way to the office, I walk past a video store. I'm a member there - I rent all my videos and DVD's from that store - and it's really cool. My dream job is to work in that video store. It's not glamorous, it doesn't pay well, there aren't great job prospects but I'd be happy.
That's what's important - being happy in your job. Don't take a job just to impress your friends, or to get your parents off your back, or to look smart. Take a job cos it's what you wanna do.

Ok I always wanted to create my own sitcom or soap opera. I also wanted to own my own tv station so I can have all the show that I love on there since half of them are not on tv anymore, and if I did own my own tv station I would show FOL twice a nite and I would show every episode no matter what time I would be on.

I also would love to have a log cabin out in the moutains by a river (love to live by Yellowstone river) so I could go fishing when ever I wanted.
