It had to be great to be a teen in the 70's, bencasey 08-11-2006, 01:38 AM It had to be great to be a teen in the 70's, It was okay but I would rather have been a teen in the 50s. The best thing about the 70s IMO was that it was the greatest decade for sports. You had all of these leagues popping up all over the place - WFL, WHA, ABA, WTT, NLL, IVA, NASL. It was a great decade for sports, really great. Buffyboy323 09-04-2006, 03:44 AM I'm like the only person around here who has never seen Freaks and Geeks.  You need to go buy it!!!! Young Americans LETTERL 10-09-2006, 03:33 PM Well, I can't disagree about "Square Pegs"; I loved that show and was sad to hear it wouldn't come back for another season, back when I was in high school. And I fondly remember "Baby, I'm Back". I saw "Occasional Wife" when Comedy Central aired it a few years back but didn't think it was all that special. If NBC had to choose between it and "Jeannie," they made the right choice, but that's just my humble opinion. But here's one I have not seen mentioned that I fondly remember from Sunday nites in 1978...and often wondered why it never made it, since its lead in was "All in The Family": "On Our Own", with Lyn Greene and Bess Armstrong. It also featured Dixie Carter and Holland Taylor...a great cast and had a catchy theme song. The funniest episode was when the two main characters were somehow working in a doughnut shop and they got into an argument and sprayed each other with jelly filling. The Great Sitcom Book says it was "better written than most of its contemporaries but that ratings were not high enough to warrant it a success." Does anyone else remember this one? Another one-year wonder that I fondly remembered from childhood was "Kolchak: The Night Stalker." I was very excited when it finally came out on DVD...but after watching it as an adult, I can see now it was not as good as I remembered it being. And while it wasn't a one-year wonder...there is one sitcom that ran for two seasons that I used to love watching in reruns with my grandmother: "The Mothers-In-Law", with Eve Arden and Kaye Ballard. I was fortunate enough to find a VHS release of 16 episodes of this show on EBAY a few years ago. A number of people also fondly remember this rarely-seen-today sitcom; I wonder if it'll ever see the light of day in DVD format. LazyCrazySurfer 10-17-2006, 11:40 PM I'd have to say definitely Freaks and Geeks and My So Called Life. Also, anyone remember the UPN show years back called 'Legacy'? I don't know why but I totally dug that show, obviously not many others did lol Edison 10-18-2006, 02:15 AM I'll Fly Away, Max Headroom, Police Squad (In Color !), The Powers that Be, The Pursuit of Happiness ('87) with Wendel Meldrum (Miss White, "The Wonder Years"). vashti1999 10-18-2006, 09:07 AM I'll Fly Away.
