Has anyone else noticed how much Grandpa's looks/makeup changed during the latter part of the first season? The 'hair'-type thingies on the side looked shorter and more slicked back in the earlier part of the series. Did anyone else notice this and why did his appearance change so?

It's different in the two pilot episodes, also. And it varies from the two pilots.
Like you said, it changes through the first season and then later, in Munster Go Home, it changes again.
Al Lewis' makeup person seemed to not settle on one look for Grandpa.
Or, did I read that there was a change in the makeup artist? There was that move to make them look less grotesque.
Love the early grotesque look.

He lost the real spooky, as you said 'grotesque' look over the first season. I like the early look better. I think they tried to make him look a bit more normal as the series progressed.
