View Full Version : 2nd season
Laugh30 05-14-2006, 12:25 AM What would you have liked to have seen done in the 2nd season?
I think Lester would of been a nice addition to the show. Half the time, the actor would be out of makeup, but when there was a full moon...
Then you'd have the jokes like, Lester letting his hair down, staying out all night and waking up in the neighbor's doghouse...
I agree! Lester would've made a great addition!
tv star collector 05-14-2006, 08:08 AM I think that, had the series gone for a third season, both Lester (The Wolfman)
and Gilbert (The Creature from the Black Lagoon) would have made more guest
appearances. Maybe even The Invisible Man would have been seen (or should
I say NOT seen?).
gilligan fanatic 05-14-2006, 09:31 AM Definitely a vacation to Transylvania.
dirtprod 05-14-2006, 02:07 PM A second season? (Psst... there was a second season... ;))
A third season? I think it would have been pretty much more of the same. Fred Gwynne & Al Lewis were just like Abbott & Costello. There would likely have been a few more episodes dealing with the others in the family. Mainly because being made up as Herman was taking it's toll on Fred. It was extremely hot under all that...
I don't think there would have been any new cast members. But there would likely have been more guest stars. However, at the time all the stars wanted to be on Batman. So you never know. As much as I like Batman, I think it played a hand in the cancellation of the Munsters.
My best,

Laugh30 05-14-2006, 06:36 PM Well, I meant, let me rephrase it, in their 2nd season, what would you have liked to have seen them do, since it became the final season.
How about Grandma Dracula making her return to the living and first appearence on the show, since it was mentioned that she died repeatedly.
Yeah. I did read or hear somewhere that the 2nd season was running out of ideas and was repeating itself. But I didn't find that at all. I thought it was just getting into the swing of things. Pity it never had a third season, at least.
Laugh30 05-15-2006, 06:19 AM In one of those Biography episodes, there's a clip of Butch Patrick doing a publicity appearence in makeup with another actor in a gorilla suit. That was a character meant to be part of the show but the cancellation happened.
Someone in a previous thread came up with a plot idea of Grandpa making a potion for Marilyn that would turn her into a true blue/green Munster.
So, there are some plot ideas for a third season.
Don't know about that gorilla...

The popularity of BATMAN definitely played a part. In fact, during its first
season BATMAN (which aired twice a week on ABC, on Wednesdays and
Thursdays) held the No. 5 spot (the Thursday telecast) and the No. 10 spot
(the Wednesday telecast) ... knocking THE MUNSTERS (which held the No. 18
spot its first season) out of the top 30 shows.
As much as I love Batman, every time I watch it I think about what it did to my beloved Munsters. I personally think TM was better than BM in a way. I would take TM over BM.
comedyfreak 05-16-2006, 09:57 AM I would've liked to see more of Dr. Duddley and Spot. I think if they had a third season they wouldn't have kept Pat Priest, so it's good in a way that the series ended. I didn't like Debbie Watson.
