Has anyone (besides me) experianced the glory of an air show? It's so much fun. I go to them every year and it's awesome. I live on Barksdale Air Force Base (my dad is in the service) and we're known for our air shows. In the unlikely event that anyone is in the area this weekend, let me know and i can sneak you in to avoid traffic. :D

They say it's free to get in but if you want to do anything, your going to pay...alot.

They have everything imaginable here. Everything you could possibly put in a deep fryer, it's here. (And you have to remember that Louisianians will eat almost anything once :D)

Also, They let you go into a ton of different types of airplanes! I've already been in some of them with my dad (never flown in one though :() but it's fun none the less.

People from all over the ****ing world come the Barksdale show. In the first 10 minutes of being there i saw 3 people from france, Japan, and Mexico (maybe another spanish speaking country...?)

The preformances are always spectacular, and they get better and better every year...

So, has anyone ever been?

Edit: some of the airplanes that were there this year:

I've always wanted to go to one, but I never have. They always have a big one in Oshkosh, right here in WI. I don't know why I never go! I love aircraft! Especially from WWII. I'd love it if I could just sit in a Corsair just once.

Ahhhhh air shows...YES!!!!! POINT MUGU NAVAL BASE here has a show almost every year. This year there won't be one because the Blue Angels and some other team won't be available to perform.

In 2002, my daughters went to the air show and just as they got there is when a crash occurred. I knew something was wrong when my daughters came home in less than 30 mins. after leaving. I had told my boyfriend jokingly, "I bet there was a crash, that's why they are home early." I felt so bad when that is what in fact had occurred.

From my house, you can easily see the planes, jets, etc. practicing their manuevers for air shows. On the day of the air show, I had seen a plume of smoke but didn't think it was a crash.

I also remember several years ago when the air show was going to debut the stealth fighter at the show. Well, a few days before the weekend of the air show, I was standing outside with my youngest daughter when lo and behold we see this sight! I WAS FREAKING OUT!!!! MY HEART WAS POUNDING! The stealth fighter was flying right over our neighborhood. Mind you, this thing is HUGE!!! it made no audible sound as it flew over, very slowly over our house. And!!! it was flying sooooo low. For a millisecond, i thought i was looking at a UFO. Me and my daughter remember that day very well!!!

I love Air Shows; my first and only was in 1999. I fell in love with the Blue Angels. Right now they are in Carswell here in Ft Worth but I hate to go alone.
