On the screen at one point during the L. A. Clippers-Phoenix Suns game was a graphic comparing prices in 1976 to those of today. It was just after (or around) the time they showed highlights of a 124-123 Buffalo Braves victory over the Philadelphia '76ers thirty years ago (Sorry, Solomon :D).
On to said graphic. It said that gas was 59 cents a gallon in 1976 (which I believe, even though I was but four years of age that year), but guess what it said for 2006: $3.43! THREE FORTY-THREE! Were my eyes deceiving me? Even after Hurricane Katrina last year all but two places I passed were substantially less than that!
In Beverly Hills, gas went over $4.00. Total rip off.

I apologize, Solomon. I know you dislike a number of Philadelphia sports teams even though you live in the City of Brotherly Love, but I was not totally aware that the '76ers were one of them.
