when Bookman showed up to complain abt the noise and finally said they were being evicted, JJ said it's too late because WE ARE MOVING TO MISSISSIPPI really loud, and the family even began singing that spelling song, even some of the people at the party were clapping when they finished singing that song...So, my question is, HOW COULD THOSE GIRLS NOT HEAR THAT? The surprise was revealed right then and there!!!

I don't know what JJ was thinking when he thought that chick was going to be all heartbroken. Unless he had been telling her he loved her and she was telling him the same thing...he shouldn't have expected her to take it hard. It's not like he was the only guy in the city.
Michael was different. He and his girlfriend were IN LOVE...even though it was just puppy love, but to each other, they were in love. She loved him sooooo much, SHE DIDN'T SHOW UP TO THE APT. AFTER THE FUNERAL. She no longer existed.

That's a good question. I don't recall seeing Michael at the door, so maybe he had her preoccupied.

he wasn't right in front of the door, but he was right at the end of the line starting with JJ, Flo, Willona, Thelma and then Michael.

Then I guess those two girls were getting down with that smooth cat with the sunglasses.

in that teeny tiny apt. they didn't have to be RIGHT THERE next to them. If you look, you will even see a few of the people in the background clapping after they sing that MISSISSIPPI song. There is no way in hell when JJ practically yelled they were going to Mississippi that no one heard.
Besides, i thought you didn't watch the Big Move, too depressing.
