All that discussion about hugging trees over on the weird teacher thread got me to thinking: how many of you here have ever ACTUALLY hugged a tree??

<raises hand> I have! And it's actually kind of amusing and fun. I don't know why but I felt very at peace when I was hugging the tree.

But then again I have been known to hug my car, so maybe I'm just some sort of out-of-control hugging freak. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I've hugged a tree before, but I don't actually remember the reason. I was just surprised my arms could fit around it.

My friends married trees at camp when we were like 9!!! We went back there a few months ago and they were like "Awww my husband!!"

*Opportunity does not knock, and then ring the doorbell, and then knock again, and then leave a note that says, "Sorry I missed you" and then call you on the phone.*
Stephanie: Nice move. Did you make that up?
Tony: Yeah, well I saw it on TV first, then I made it up.

I hugged a tree just the other day.... I have been very sad and heart broken and I hugged this tree and told her how sad I am....

I feel bad she is stuck out there 24/7!!!

I once brought home five cedar tree seedlings and not knowing what I was doing just dug some holes and planted them. Four died but one is still alive and is about twenty feet tall now (was planted in the early 90’s). That’s MY tree. My father planted a pine tree in the front yard back in 1982 and forty years later it is a monster of a tree, probably forty feet high. I don’t much care for this tree because it sheds pine needles and pine cones. But the pine cones can be burned in a fireplace.

I don’t think trees know that they are being hugged but they all have wood.

That's how you know they're excited to see you. Why not play ZZ Top's "Woke Up with Wood" to see if that stimulates them, or maybe they're heavy metal trees that prefer "Let's Get It Up" by AC/DC.
