I just saw it too and was inspired to write about it...only to see someone had beat me to it. :)

There aren't many shows that were so good that their clip shows were good, too. NC's is definitely one of the best.

Later!

I always wondered what inspired them to do a clip show episode in the particular year and at the particular point in which they did. It wasn't a specially numbered episode like their 100th. So, I wondered why they did it at this point.

Have to say that I cannot stand clip shows. If you have not seen the clips it is no problem but if you have, well, I just want to see the new stuff.

I think that clip shows were a way of saving costs. If I watch a show on dvd and there is a clip show, I often just skim past the clips. Episodes then last about 6 minutes.

Does anyone know whether dramatic shows hace clip shows? I know that NC, Golden Girls and Roseanne have all done a clip show but I can't think of one drama that has had a clip show. Can anyone think of any?

Lost had one this season; Stargate: SG1 has had them. M*A*S*H was a dramedy by the time it did theirs. I seem to remember a few others, but can't remember any specifics.

The clip show does seem to be a mostly sitcom phenomenon.

"Desperate Housewives" did a bit of a recap clip show last year to bring viewers up to speed.
