I truly regret to say this, but according to the schedule at the Lifetime web site, there will no evening episodes of UM either tomorrow or Friday. Instead, it will be Lifetime movies at 7 pm (Eastern Time) on both nights. What this means is that the show's two-week evening run will be prematurely over after tonight. :(

Thats crap! Stupid Lifetime!

Whats strange is it must have been a last minute decision by Lifetime because my cable on screen tv listings shows it still being on twice Thursday & Friday nights.

Or perhaps it's a glitch in the TV calendar system for Lifetime? My TV says UM as well, but it could indeed be last-minute.

MeeVee Guide has UM listed for Thursday and Friday nights - two hours.

Their listings are pretty reliable too.

This is ridiculous! Lifetime should've kept Unsolved Mysteries on for at least till the end of the summer. A two week special airing is silly and just disappointing! :(

is it just me or has anyone else noticed that when advertising UM they say catch UM at 7 and 8 pm weeknights on lifetime. They no longer say it's for 2 weeks. Does this mean they are trying to put it back on during that time slot? Just a thought.!

I guess the ratings weren't good. I've been having a hard time watching it. 8pm is booked for me every night already and 7pm ET is tough as well.

It's on right now (Unsolved Mysteries, the one with the lady who has memories of a steamboat, etc.). I think the glitch theory is confirmed; I was watching The Golden Girls and it wasn't advertising any movies that were to come on "next" or anything, I dunno.

no one ever watches lifetime on purpose besides for um and a few original series.

Ha! That was funny...

Well, it's hard to say for sure whether the ratings were a factor. What I do know is that Lifetime was planning to show UM in evening for only two weeks.

In any case, it goes without saying that we were ripped off.

I just checked my TV listings thru Excite & they have UM listed for tomorrow & Friday.

I think they should've kept them on for 2 full weeks. I think Lifetime should release some DVDs of Unsloved mysteries since they owned the rights of the show for about 2 years.

Okay, nevermind about it being confirmed, I was thinking of something else and was wrong.

I think that if they cancel for tomorrow and Friday, they're being suck. I like UM being on at night, it's the only time I can catch it live. Now, if you ask me if I'd rather see some original NBC airings back in primetime (like Seinfeld, it's on at like 6PM on FOX, what's up with that?) for everyone to watch.

As far as it being cancelled for the next two days, I think it could still be a glitch, but it might just be that the displays aren't updated yet.

Well I haven't seen any ads for movies to run at 8....

So quick question... assuming the Lifetime website is correct and that two Lifetime movies will be showing in place of UM, why does everyone think this means the end of UM at nite as in (the movies are not temporary replacements but will be a fullscale schedule change) never to be seen at night again???

Admitedly I'm not a huge Lifetime fan altough I greatly appreciate that they continue to air IMveryHO the greatest TV show of all time. But it just doesn't make sense to spend the money to place an ad talking about the new time if they were just going to do a two week run. I won't be watching the movies unless its the Betty Broderick story.. (man Merdith Baxter is AWESOME in that..)

I don't watch much afternoon TV but it seems to me I've recalled many a time when I was planning to watch UM during the day only to find a movie playing, I'm just positive the same thing used to happed a few years ago when the show was on every night sometimes it gets replaced with a movie.Maybe as a way to keep the stories fresh so it doesn't seem like we're watching the spiral staircase and resurection mary episodes every other week.

I hope I'm right but if they do pull the plug at night well then shame on Lifetime!

Didn't they say it was a 2-week deal? This is week two, I believe, so if they cut it out tomorrow and Friday it'll be over.

I don't think that the syndication rights have much, if anything to do with distribution rights. I am a Twilight Zone FREAK and I know for certain that CBS still owns the distribution rights to the show, even though Sci-Fi Channel owns the syndication rights (I know this because my band used several samples from said show on our last album and that's how we gained permission) but they release the DVDs through a third party and Sci-Fi has nothing to do with it. CBS, along with the third party distributor are the compaies that gain profits from DVD sales. Sci-Fi makes enough dough off the show just from advertising.

Ten minutes until we know what's what tonight. I'm so curious.

But did you all notice that Lifetime's UM page says that it airs Weeknights at 7pm and 8pm et/pt? Does this mean every weeknight, forever? Hm!

Check it out: http://www.lifetimetv.com/shows/unsolved/index.html

Well, "permanent" would be a better word than "forever". Anyway, they already have a TV lineup for next week; the last time I checked, it didn't look good.

I think you guys are right... Lifetime has some serious issues:mad:

I clicked on the link that sia provide and it clearly states "Weeknights at 7 pm and 8 pm et/pt " but when you click on the upcoming episodes link.. those ninnies have every show listed at 2pm:confused:

PS UM will not be on at night next week either according to the website...so there it goes

The way I see it, the powers-of-be at Lifetime are out of touch with us. It's time that somebody fire that staff and hire new blood, people who truly care about us. The network executives are like light bulbs and batteries: they are replaceable.

I think that UM is a good show, but I doubt Lifetime shows it expecting someone to solve a mystery anymore. It's just being shown to show it, and while that's not bad, I don't think that's a good enough reason to put it in their (somewhat) primetime slots. If they cut out some of the sitcom-a-thon in the early morning and played some more UM, I would be happy. I watch this show because it's amazing and it is fun to watch...it's addictive. So, while I was happy to see it back, it's not realistic in my eyes to see them putting it back in any spot like that in the near future.

I do agree though, more UM or off with their heads. They've got quite a bit of UM, there's no need to repeat segments/episodes. I want to see an evolved UM. Season-by-season releases, showing the Pre-Stack specials, and giving it more respect. The ultimate dream would be a few hours of UM a day with a large variety of shows in their original NBC format with DVDs for each season.

Ahh...

Well, anything is possible.. John List? That case was out of the news for decades, AMW updates and puts it back out there and blammo they catch their man... plus sometimes you will see updates that say "a LIFETIME VIEWER reported" something.

I mean a chyron (thats the computer that types words on a tv screen) entry is not that expensive...

I agree though Goofy, more variety and even a special edition of the show could do it wonders (like it started on NBC)... no disrespect intended but how popular are/were the Vivica Fox and Ricky Shroeder shows?

You know one more quick thing to add... I don't know what makes me more ticked off the fact the barely ran it for two weeks or the fact that now on days its only 1 episode!!!!

Apparently this maybe an attempt to add variety, but HELLO LIFETIME, just pull more episodes out of the vault!!! If you don't have them maybe you can ask Crystal or some of the others for a few of their copies!!! :P
