View Full Version : Question about DVD Tootie 05-09-2006, 04:58 PM Do they show the episodes editted? I remember they cutted out a lot of parts. kooky12 05-09-2006, 05:19 PM I think that all TV stations edit all of the episodes to make room for more commercials. If you want uneditted, you need to buy the DVDs. (Or you can watch them on Google video- they have a limited selection.) Jack1000 05-10-2006, 01:25 AM I think that all TV stations edit all of the episodes to make room for more commercials. If you want uneditted, you need to buy the DVDs. (Or you can watch them on Google video- they have a limited selection.) With a FEW NOTED EXCEPTIONS, the DVD's are all uncut and run anywhere from about 25-26 minutes in length. This is in striking contrast to TV Land's and syndicated prints, which come in under 22 minutes. There is quite a bit of time compression and edits in the non-DVD versions. For specific comparisons, please find the thread: "Brady Bunch Scenes No Longer Aired." Later posts in the thread contain a DVD restoration list. What IS cut is minor on the DVD's but includes: 1.) 15-20 seconds of dialogue cut from "Pass The Tabu" on the DVD set. 2.) The fill in squares cut out at the very end of "Love and the Older Man." 3.) Cut fill in squares on "Greg Get's Grounded" with the tag scene of Greg talking to Mike and Carol in bed, immediately following the drive in scene with Greg and Rachel. 4) The fill in squares cut from the three part Grand Canyon/Hawaii vacation episodes. With the exception of #1, it should be noted that no dialogue has been edited from the DVD sets. Jack Tootie 05-10-2006, 04:52 PM So do they show that part where Bobby and Cindy are going over to the doctors pool not wearing swim suits? Jack1000 05-10-2006, 08:17 PM So do they show that part where Bobby and Cindy are going over to the doctors pool not wearing swim suits? Yes! LOL! It's from "Goodbye Alice Hello" (Season 4) and is just after the scene where Alice as she is leaving the girls' room says: "No matter what I say nowdays, turns out to be something I should'nt have said." The scene in question runs about a minute long. TV Land/Syndicate prints do not show evidence of where the scene was cut. So, if you don't have the DVD, or a VCR recording from this episode from the mid 80's (at the latest) you have not seen this scene since that time. Jack Tootie 05-10-2006, 08:47 PM OMG! The DVDS may be worth buying!!!!!!:) :) :) ________ Jack1000 05-11-2006, 10:23 AM OMG! The DVDS may be worth buying!!!!!!:) :) :) LOL@ Theresgonna! If you don't have the DVD and want to read what is said in that scene, find our "Brady Bunch Scenes No Longer Aired" thread. It's like 15 pages long (at least) Wait! I'll find it here and post it for you!!! PS: Here it is!!!!! ********************************************* AND NOW THE BIGGEST RESTORATION OF THE BRADY BUNCH SEASON 4: BOBBY AND CINDY WANT TO SWIM NAKED IN THE NEW NEIGHBOR'S POOL!!! HERE IT IS: Goodbye Alice Hello: A longer scene first of Peter and Greg trying to fix the broken lamp. TV Land cuts right after they put the lamp on the table and Greg says, "Great, no one will ever know it was broken." What happens next is Bobby knocks at the door, and Peter wonders, "Can we trust him?" Greg, says, "He won't squeal but he is too young." They decide to keep the door locked and put the lamp in the closet. Greg says to Peter, "Pretend like you're studying." Bobby comes in and is suspicious about them doing homework. He says he's looking for his football, than his helmet. Nervously they guard the closet, Greg gives him his football and Peter gives him his helmet. Greg says, "Have a good game." Now the scene that we have waited to see for at least 25years! (It's right after Marcia and Jan get upset about Alice squealing on Peter and Greg for breaking the lamp and Marcia tells her that because she left the record player on all night that she can't use the stereo for a whole week. Then Alice says, "No matter what I say nowdays, turns out to be something I shouldn't have said.") HERE IT IS!!!!! (This may still not be exact, but it is close) Bobby and Cindy come downstairs: Cindy: "We're ready to go Alice" Bobby: "The new neighbors on the corner invited us over to swim in their pool" Alice: "Wait Bobby are you wearing your good trunks or the ones with all the holes in them?" (She opens his robe) Alice: "Ahhhh! Your not wearing your bathing suit, your wearing your birthday suit! Who moved in over there Adam and Eve?" Bobby: "The Bellfields. Their Dad's a doctor." Alice: "He must not have much of a practice if they can't afford bathing suits" Bobby: "They swim like that all the time over there! How will we look if we are wearing clothes and they aren't?" Cindy: "And Dr. Bellfield says the sun has LOTS of vitamins!" Alice: "Well, so does orange juice but you don't go swimming in it! Go on suit up." Bobby: "But Alice, Why can't we go like this?" Alice: "You are NOT going to swim in an X-rated swimming pool without your parent's permission. UPSTAIRS"! (They leave) Alice: "Whew!!"
