View Full Version : Mother's Day
Janice 05-09-2006, 11:50 AM It's this Sunday. Is anyone doing something special for their mother? If you're a mother, are your kids or husband doing something special for you?
Mijada, it's your first Mother's Day! I hope you have a great day with your two favorite guys, Tom and baby Spencer. :)
80s_Fan 05-09-2006, 12:01 PM I use to love mother's day; I would give my mom a card and flowers.
Now that she's been gone since January 16, 2005; it's really hard for me.
Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and miss her terribly.
She's in my thoughts and in my heart and always will be.
(I LOVE YOU MOM AND EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE NO LONGER WITH US)
(I WANT TO WISH YOU A VERY HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!)
  :bighug:

Just when I think that Lor can't get any cuter, she does. Her eyes are incredible. :)
Mr. Stefani 05-09-2006, 01:26 PM Me and my brother are sending my mom and sister to a spa for the weekend. They've always said they wanted to do it, so we set it up so they go before my sisters wedding.
Number 9 Dream 05-09-2006, 01:32 PM Hmm, I'm giving my Mom an IPOD for Mother's Day...other than that, it's up to her what she wants to do :D Probably a whole lot of relaxation :)
MsOrange 05-09-2006, 02:01 PM i gotta work :(
Czas na Zywiec 05-09-2006, 02:04 PM I haven't seen my mom in months. May is usually pretty busy because her birthday is only a few days away from mother's day. But I've been way busy with finishing up classes, taking finals, and working. A 300 mile drive isn't really convienient when I've got so much going on. This is probably also the longest I've been away from home (and the trips home are going to get less frequent from now on) but I have to be at work for Mother's Day brunch.
Oh well, my mom understands that I can't come home because this is the first time I've really been making any kind of money to support myself in two years, so I have to stick with it.
dawsongirl 05-09-2006, 02:13 PM Probably nothing. Given that we never do anything. Not really into celebrating Mom's and Dad's day. I'd rather buy them something on some random day.
retrochick9 05-09-2006, 02:26 PM My brother and I are buying my mom one of those porch swings with cushions and a sun canopy thing cuz she's been wanting one of those. We're gonna go pick it up and put it together, I hate putting crap together, but what can ya do, lol.

Some Assembly Required. Scariest words in history.
Penny Lane 05-09-2006, 03:34 PM I am doing what I always do. My brothers and sisters and all of our kids go to my Mom's for dinner. There are also 4 birthdays(including mine) which usually fall near Mother's Day so we celebrate birthdays that day also! There are so many gifts stacked up for all of the Moms and birthday people that it seems like Christmas!:D
Karen* 05-09-2006, 03:41 PM I wish I could do something with her...but Mother's Day is the day after my school's Senior Ball. :(
Dutabi84 05-09-2006, 04:23 PM Probably just send her a card, since I'll be well over 1000 miles away.
Moonlight Lady 05-09-2006, 04:30 PM My brother and I are taking her out to dinner. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and we'll have a warm sunny day. :) Since my brother's birthday falls on Mother's Day this year, we'll have a double celebration.
Brad Russ 05-09-2006, 05:05 PM I don't have alot of money, but I know for sure that I'm going to tak her out for breakfast, or dinner, or maybe even both. I want to do more for her, I just haven't thought of what yet. Anyway, mother's are the greatest, so it'll be something good!!

It's not important how much you spend, just that she knows you love her by spending time with her, doing something nice, etc. :bighug: Sounds like you have the right idea!

TheHappyBurgerMeister 05-14-2006, 04:10 PM I bought my mom her own DVD player to have with her TV/VCR she has in her room she watches TV downstairs. I just got done setting it up before and when she comes home from work later (yes, she's working on mothers day) she'll go into the room and see it! I told my brother he has to help pay a little for the DVD player so it's a gift from both of us!
