How long was it...three minutes? from the time she walked down the aisle to when they said "I do"???

View Full Version : Wasn't Thelma's wedding the shortest wedding you ever seen? Ireneparalegal 05-09-2006, 01:34 AM How long was it...three minutes? from the time she walked down the aisle to when they said "I do"??? Janice 05-09-2006, 09:55 AM That was quick. I thought that Willona looked extremely pretty in the church. I loved the song Michael was singing...Stevie Wonder's, You and I. He did a pretty good job of singing it too. It's not the easiest song to sing. I couldn't believe when Keith tripped. I didn't know it happened in the church. I wish I paid more attention. Did JJ stick his foot out too far? Then Keith acted like such an idiot back at the apartment. Brian Damage 05-09-2006, 09:58 AM I hated how they just had to have something bad happen at the wedding. I mean I understand they wanted to keep everybody poor, but I thought it was ridiculous. I also agree the wedding was pretty short, Judy Cohen had more air time in her episode than the wedding did. TVFactFan 05-09-2006, 11:06 AM That was quick. That was the only time Michael sounded good when singing something Brian Damage 05-09-2006, 11:40 AM That was the only time Michael sounded good when singing something What are you talking about Solomon? He was great in the Rent Party. Janice 05-09-2006, 11:47 AM Did he have a career as a singer outside the show? Brieannas21 05-09-2006, 11:57 AM I think they do that with just about every TV wedding. But yeah it was supper short. nerrad 05-09-2006, 01:43 PM I hated how they just had to have something bad happen at the wedding. I mean I understand they wanted to keep everybody poor, but I thought it was ridiculous. I also agree the wedding was pretty short, Judy Cohen had more air time in her episode than the wedding did. Yes. It seemed that something always happened to them at strange times. I can't ever recall an accident occurring at a wedding. Ireneparalegal 05-09-2006, 01:49 PM Did he have a career as a singer outside the show? I seem to recall seeing him perform on t.v. during his time on GT. I think it was Soul Train or some other musical show. retrochick9 05-09-2006, 01:57 PM I seem to recall seeing him perform on t.v. during his time on GT. I think it was Soul Train or some other musical show. I read something like that before too. retrochick9 05-09-2006, 02:13 PM How long was it...three minutes? from the time she walked down the aisle to when they said "I do"??? I had seen it before, but I was watching it the other day and, like you said, there were only 3 minutes left of the episode and Thelma didn't walk down the aisle yet. I was thinking, "wait, maybe the ceremony takes place in the next episode..." but, nope, lol magellan333 05-09-2006, 06:43 PM What are you talking about Solomon? He was great in the Rent Party. I must disagree. I thought it was a flat and boring performance. The song wasn't too great either. It was good enough for a rent party I guess, but had no "wow" factor. TVFactFan 05-09-2006, 07:06 PM What are you talking about Solomon? He was great in the Rent Party. Great at What?-lol TVFactFan 05-09-2006, 07:11 PM Did he have a career as a singer outside the show? I think so, he performed on Soul Train in 1975 Ireneparalegal 05-09-2006, 08:51 PM I must disagree. I thought it was a flat and boring performance. The song wasn't too great either. It was good enough for a rent party I guess, but had no "wow" factor. He was a young boy and he had a piano player and a guitar player to back him up. I wouldn't expect a "WOW" performance...but it was great for a boy his age. A great singer doesn't always have the best voice...it's how they deliver. Brian Damage 05-09-2006, 10:47 PM He was a young boy and he had a piano player and a guitar player to back him up. I wouldn't expect a "WOW" performance...but it was great for a boy his age. A great singer doesn't always have the best voice...it's how they deliver. True, he got down in that episode. Brian Damage 05-09-2006, 10:48 PM Great at What?-lol This coming from someone who thought Judy Cohen had talent. lol catlover79 07-23-2008, 09:13 PM This coming from someone who thought Judy Cohen had talent. lol  catlover79 07-23-2008, 09:15 PM That was quick. Then Keith acted like such an idiot back at the apartment. If Keith had fallen down the stairs after tripping over JJ, I would've bought him breaking a leg. I STILL think that's the stupidest plot device the show did in the whole six seasons it was on the air. Ireneparalegal 07-23-2008, 11:43 PM If Keith had fallen down the stairs after tripping over JJ, I would've bought him breaking a leg. I STILL think that's the stupidest plot device the show did in the whole six seasons it was on the air. If I am ever asked abt you Monika and what I know abt you, these are the two things I will come up with first: SHE IS A SALT LOVER and SHE SAYS THE STUPIDEST PLOT DEVICE EVER WAS KEITH BREAKING HIS LEG WALKING DOWN THE AISLE  I gotta agree with you there though. It is so damn true. Stairs, yes. Walking, NO. And J.J. wasn't even at fault! catlover79 07-24-2008, 12:14 AM ^ Great minds think alike!! ;) :D Ireneparalegal 07-24-2008, 12:15 AM :jig: Yes they do. ;) And I too agree with that dumb plot device. Jude The Obscure 07-27-2008, 08:04 PM hee hee heeeeeee They could have simply done--Keith went to practice and injured his knee. Nooooo, they had to make JJ to blame for the family's continued impoverished state. :nonono: Ireneparalegal 07-27-2008, 10:29 PM So right Jude. It reminded me of how Gilligan and how he was always to blame (rightly so or not) for the castaways still being on the island. Jude The Obscure 07-28-2008, 01:58 PM The irony being, JJ made his fortune by using his oft made fun of sister! "That's right, that's my gift to you...a trip to the Bahamas from the millionaire!" :D "And now that I'm moving up, I'm moving out" "JJ, after all these years of you calling me ugly, the fact that you used my face for your comic book........is pretty terrific!" "I love you too........catfish face!" Too bad we never got see the Evans' actually OUT of the ghetto. Ireneparalegal 07-28-2008, 04:37 PM Too bad we never got see the Evans' actually OUT of the ghetto. I agree. It would have been nice. But I can see it now had they shown us the Evans new place. Solomon would be bitching abt how the place looked or that is NOT how he would have imagined them living in a place like that. Jude The Obscure 07-28-2008, 04:43 PM I'm sure the writers of GT were just so selfish not to take into consideration the wishes of ole young Sol! :brent Ireneparalegal 07-28-2008, 06:58 PM Yeah for sure. Bad enough the writers ticked him off by revealing Thelma's pregnant and we are left hanging since that is not something you show on a finale. catlover79 07-28-2008, 08:00 PM I agree. It would have been nice. But I can see it now had they shown us the Evans new place.
