Something's been bugging me today so I figured I start this thread to see what others think.

So my father is a pastor of a church and he told me that this morning he found a burnt cardboard box on the church's front property. It was broken into pieces and each burnt piece was scattered into a different place. I don't know about anyone else but I've been thinking that this seems like a threat, like that's what the church is going to be. It's just scaring me because if it is a threat then how do I know that these people don't know where we live? It could also be very possible that this is just a stupid prank or maybe it was just garbage and a kid decided to just dump it on the property but i don't know..It's scary and some people I know agree that this seems threat-like. What do you guys think? Another bad thing is that my dad sort of took this lightly and threw the box in the trash. I know that nothing can really be proven and there isn't much that can be done to prevent anything but I don't know, my instinct is saying something's wrong. What do think?

For now, I wouldn't consider it anything serious. A threat would seem to be something more serious. I wouldn't panic so much. Is there something to have concern about? Did your father do anything? Why would you think this was a threat?

I wouldn't be threatened by it. Probably just some kids or dumping their trash. If it happens again or something else out of the ordinary happens I would start to get a little more concerned about it.

No, I don't think my dad has done anything that would make people want to threaten him, it just seems strange and not like something you see all the time, you know? I guess your right about it probably not being serious but things like this just seem to make me paranoid. If someone hates the religion enough, sometimes things happen but I guess I shouldn't let it bother me unless this continues. Thanks for the replies.

I think you'd probably need a little more to go on. I can see where this would make you uncomfortable, but try and hold on until anything further is done (hopefully, it won't be. :) )

I think something more threatening would be a brick with a note rubber banded to it with the letters cut out of a magazine.

...well, unless the note says 'Hug Me' or something. That isn't very threatening.

Ok, thanks. It's been a few days and nothing more has happened so I guess your all right. Thanks again.

It could have been something that blew on the property from somewhere else too. Think about what's nearby.

That could be but I don't think the wind was strong enough to blow something that size and there were pieces of it all around, making it look like someone purposely put it there. But I could be wrong, anything's possible.
