What happened to it? I can't find it in stores anywhere. It disappeared. It was on the market not that long ago. It was some good pop. It was almost as good as Mountain Dew.

Tuesday Weld 05-07-2006, 04:18 PM I remember it, but haven't seen it around for a really long time. moeee 05-07-2006, 04:26 PM :D PZelda 05-07-2006, 04:34 PM :D Wow, that brings back so many memories...The middle one was the Mello Yello design at the time when I was a very young kid in the late 80's. I miss that design...The sun was my fave part of the design. :D MsOrange 05-07-2006, 04:36 PM I live in SC and I believe I saw it int he store....... moeee 05-07-2006, 04:36 PM Yeah, i only remember the middle one as well. Courtnee 05-07-2006, 06:37 PM I see it every now and then at the BX Nighthawk76 05-07-2006, 06:46 PM Wasn't "Mellow Yellow" also the title of a really corny song from the 1970's? Chelsea 05-07-2006, 07:10 PM You can get it at just about every conceivable location here (South Central KY) - it's even served in restaurant fountains. 80sTrivia 05-07-2006, 07:10 PM I believe they still sell Mello Yello where I live, although I personally don't like the taste! :) Jonathan 05-07-2006, 07:18 PM Yeah, you can still buy it here. retrochick9 05-07-2006, 07:20 PM Wasn't "Mellow Yellow" also the title of a really corny song from the 1970's? LOL, yep, "They call me Mello Yello..." Tuesday Weld 05-07-2006, 07:21 PM Wasn't "Mellow Yellow" also the title of a really corny song from the 1970's? The song by Donovan? retrochick9 05-07-2006, 07:22 PM The song by Donovan? Yep, I couldn't remember who sang it, so I looked it up, it's Donovan, lol Tuesday Weld 05-07-2006, 07:24 PM Yep, I couldn't remember who sang it, so I looked it up, it's Donovan, lol :D Jonathan 05-07-2006, 07:29 PM :D Miss Music Trivia. :D Stormtracker TF 05-07-2006, 08:24 PM I've seen that stuff in one of the Soda Fountains at some fast-food place here before. Other than that, never seen it/drank it. Nighthawk76 05-08-2006, 11:36 AM The song by Donovan? puke:  snl 70s show fan 05-08-2006, 05:02 PM I THINK they still sell it where i live but ive never liked it .the taste is too sweet for me swedeace 05-08-2006, 11:16 PM I don't think it's sold around here. It doesn't sound familiar. I do recall, however, seeing "Mello-Yello" as TV product placements. I always just thought the name was an altered name so as to not pay royalties to the actual Mountain Dew company. One example was the brand "Shasa" was slight different than "Shasta" seen on Roseanne. But it's interesting if Mello-Yello is actually real. Wow... I learn something new everyday. Chelsea 05-08-2006, 11:36 PM But it's interesting if Mello-Yello is actually real. IF? IF?? If Mello Yello isn't real, then we've got a bit of a problem, as I'm drinking one right now... Did you see moeee's post on the first page? ;) He attached a pic of Mello Yello cans to his post. The 1st one is from the 1970s, the 2nd is from the 1980s/early 1990s and the 3rd is from the mid-1990s. For a while in the early part of this decade (mainly 2001), they sold additional flavors of Mello Yello. I have relatives who are franchise owners, and these flavored drinks were sold at their stores, so I remember them. They were cherry and watermelon (EWWWWWW). Regular Mello Yello tastes pretty much like Mt. Dew, and Mello Yello is licensed by Coca-Cola. Come to think of it, I don't really see Mello Yello sold around here as much anymore...My relatives would still have them at their stores, though, but only in 20-oz bottles. I was a major Mello Yello chugger as a very little kid...I grew up on Mello Yello in the 1980s. James 05-20-2006, 10:26 PM The Steak N Shake restaurants (at least around Dayton) sell it. theshark8777 05-20-2006, 11:02 PM Still have it here in Northeast Ohio too, but I think it is bigger in the south. retrochick9 05-20-2006, 11:13 PM I just had Mello Yello last week at a buffet restaurant I went to called Firehouse. I got it because I had just read this post, lol. I hadn't had it in YEARS and I forgot what it tasted like, I really liked it! It's like a combination of Mountain Dew and Squirt, YUMMY!!!! Steve M. 05-22-2006, 09:08 PM Ah, yes, the "world's fastest soft drink. . . ." It was marketed as a carbonated bveverage that went down as quickly as fruit punch or an iced tea. Try chug-a-lugging a Coke or Sprite, and your stomach will never forgive you! gilligan fanatic 05-22-2006, 09:10 PM we still have it here but I never buy it. I used to always get it when I went miniature golfing at Putt-Putt.
