It would be the same as having a mistake on your credit report and even though it was cleared up with that particular business, you still had a bad credit score with other agencies because it was still listed in their files, or other credit reporting agencies.

His name is in a file if the FBI got a hold of it. They never get rid of any of their files. They still have files on dead people like Elvis.
