This is an excellent review; very well-worded and covering everything a potential buyer would want to know before purchasing the DVD!!! :)

I'm just amazed that Buena Vista hasn't given us any info on when Season 6 will be releaded. If you think about it Buena Vista for the last 2 DVD releases have told us when the next Season would be out like a week before that Season came out.Well, Season 5 is out and no info. on Season 6. I personally think it will be out in September/October most likely October. This is because "Scrubs:Season 4" is rumored to come out in October, and for the last 2 releases of "Scrubs" "The Golden Girls" have come out on that same day. Now the good thing mamby is Buena Vista is taking longer 5 more than 3 months is mamby there are working on better Bonus Features. I think that may be it, and by all means Buena Vista take your time (not too long), but work for even better than Season 5. Also I would just like to say Thank You Buena Vista for putting together Great Bonus Features for Season 5!

I think the sixth season will be out either in August or November.

I just received my copy of Season Five, and I'm thrilled! I really enjoy the commentaries from the actors the most! :)

Bad News.

It appears the episodes (or some) are syndicated cuts. Some people are finding lines that are cut from the NBC showing - and strangely nobody has found material cut from Lifetime. It could be possible that Season 3 & 4 were also cut when the stereo track came back.

Well I'm very impressed with Barenes&Nobles and UPS. I thought my DVd would come Fri., but it came tonight just like 7mins ago. I haven't opened it but it looks very good, and the cover. I also like the back cover art. It's one of the only pictures that you seen Sophia with glasses on the DVD covers. I can't wait to hear the commentaries. But I got homework to do tonight! Dann, homework comes first then play, but mamby i'll finish mine before bedtime and watch "Sick&Tired Part 1"! This will be a Great season & there are episodes I've never seen.

I don't mind if some episode are edited, just not the whole set. There must have been some kind of problem, unfortunetly. :(

I really don't think they are edited. So I've watched eps. 1-3. They have been great & great picture quality. Also i've listened to Rue's commentary & listening to Bea's right now, but she really isn't saying to much, but it is still very cool to have these features. It does stink that you can't press the audio button from the controler to listen to the main menu. Also in Rue's commentary she said that she was working on her book & that she was on the 16th chapter.

On The GOlden Girls Chat room www.the-goldengirls.com it says that some were edited from that website that reviwed the SEason 5 dvd. It kinda stinks, but oh well at least it wasn't all the episodes! I just don't see why Buena Vista would start to put some edited cepisodes.? I still like season 5 and I'm going to go watch it now!

Well, by 1989 and 1990 when this season aired they were probably getting shorter. I actually have "72 Hours" and "All Bets Are Off" taped from the original broadcast on NBC. I was apparently out both of those nights so I set the vcr to tape them and just never erased them. I compared both and didn't find anything missing on those two.
