I never watch daytime television, but yesterday i was in bed not feeling good and watched Oprah. I tend to watch her show in the middle of the night since i am up real late.

A woman who had been in the process of a divorce from her abusive husband, had a restraining order on him and HE HAD THE AUDACITY to file with the court a petition asking the court to REMOVE THE RESTRAINING ORDER, his claim was that they (the couple) would be attending marriage counseling. Well, he didn't show up for the court hearing...she did. They played the audio tape of the woman asking that the restraining order not be lifted. The judge was arrogant, mean, speaking with such hostility saying stuff to her like "Well, I'd like to be 6'5" tall, but that isn't going to happen..." I was like WTF????? She was a victim, not a criminal. Anyhow, he REMOVED THE RESTRAINING ORDER....she didn't know that's what he had done because he used LEGAL TERMS and she didn't understand what he was saying. She assumed he had kept the restraining order INTACT.

Two weeks later her husband doused her with gasoline at her job and set her on fire.

The judge said it was a "clerical error" that the restraining order was lifted. Although the proof was on audiotape. He is now doing "administrative duties." What an example of INJUSTICE. Her husband is now serving a life sentence for attempted murder. Thank God for some justice.

That is horrible! I would be filing a law suit; no question. "Administrative duties"... what a punishment... sounds like he's really suffering. She got set on fire partly b/c of him and his punishment is "administrative duties?"
(I only occasionally watch Oprah too, b/c she has this bad habit of rudely interrupting her guests, which bothers me... alot. And thats only been in the last few years, b/c I used to be able to stand Oprah.)

Oh God, I'm actually in shock after hearing that he tried to set her on fire. That judge needs to be locked up right next to her husband.

I saw this on Oprah yesterday as well... truly an outrage! Of course, the judge was too big of a coward to come onto Oprah's show and face the woman who was set on fire, which was directly related to his decision to remove the restraining order... :mad:
