Did you go to camp as a child? My sisters, two cousins and I went for a couple of summers to a place called Camp Gannet.

I remember having a blast. I still remember a lot of the songs. I recall a "Spooky House" night. Walking into a dark room where they had cooked spaghetti (no sauce), on the floor...to scare us.

It was for two weeks, and I remember being a little homesick but not much. One year, my parents took a tropical vacation while we were at camp, lol.

Ugh. I went to summer camp only once as a kid, and it was the worst week of my life (it was a week-long camp). Never again! I have a laundry list of the crappy things that happened at summer camp... among some of the things on that list, my glasses broke in half on the second day and a tick decided to make its home under the skin in my neck.

Mother nature and I are NOT friends, you see...

I want to hear the whole list of what went wrong!

Yes I went to a summer camp when I was a kid for many many summers. I was homesick my first yr because I was gone for 7 weeks. But I made lots of friends. Then summers after that I loved going, I had lots of fun, the last year I went was my when I was 14.

Just Band Camp-lol It's 10 hours at school in the middle of August from 8 AM to 6PM. It's technically not a "camp" but I thought I would include it anyway.

I've never been to camp. It seems to be a love/hate situation. Either kids LOVE it or HATE it.

No, I was way too shy and scared to go away to camp!! I went on a couple of weekend retreats with the youth group as a teenager, but that was it!!

Never went. My 6th grade class was actually chosen to go to camp... the entire camp. I didn't want to go so I didn't. We Virgos don't like to travel. ;)

I'm supposed to go on a 3 day thing for my church in summer. I ain't gonna enjoy it cause I hate a lot of the people there.

I used to goto summer camps alot in the summer..... I remember one time me and my brother both went to this same camp,it was a christian camp and at first I didnt like it.....On the first day they passed out bread and wine and wanted us all to eat/drink it,they said it was Jesus and I was scared.......

But I love Jesus and have since eatan bread/drank grape drink @ a church......

I loved going in for lunch/dinner . I remember the sink in the wreck hall having 2 larger ends to it and I still remember the water on filling the drain side!!!!! (This was many years ago)

I remember also there was a door in the boys bathroom that was always locked for some reason.. I kept unlocking it but usually they kept locking it again.. (It went into the shower area,maybe thats why I dont know...But if so,why was it there to begin with??)

Ah well.....

I went in elementary school and in middle school.

I kinda miss going and being with others my mental age and having fun maybe..... I have been so sad lately....... I mi$$ my friends terribly.......
