Is anybody the only sex out of their siblings, like the only girl out of 5 brothers or the only boy out of 3 or four girls? Did your parents treat you any different?

I understand what you mean, but I cannot relate. In my immediate family it was just me and my sister (two girls), so I have never experienced having a brother. I think it would have been cool, though.

When I took "Gender in Sociology" about 1.5 years ago, we talked about this. One girl said she was spoiled and her parents let her stay out later more so than her brothers.

I have two sisters and no brothers. I have never been treated differently from my sisters though.

Yes, my mom always treated me differently from my brothers. She always worried about me more because I am a girl. My brothers could stay out later, got their drivers licences earlier and my one brother was even allowed to have girls in his room. I hated it. Even after I moved out she still was always wanting to know where I was at and what I was up to.

They kinda do. I'm the only girl out of three older brothers and my dad treats me different than them. He makes me do all the housework and stuff but when my brothers were my age they didn't do that. The thing I hate the most though, when my brothers burp or something he doesn't say anything, but when I do he expects me to say "excuse me", even if we're just at home! So yeah, I'm treated different than them, but only by my dad.

yeah. since i have a vagina i have to clean stuff. :\

I am the only girl out of 4 kids (and also the oldest of the bunch), but I don't feel I get treated any differently...actually, maybe I get treated better :p But I am older and that comes with more freedom, I suppose. I was never babied, though.
