If Anaheim defeats Calgary in Game 7 tonight, the 4 remaining teams in the Western Conference will be the 5, 6, 7, and 8 seeds - ALL FOUR TOP SEEDS KNOCKED OFF IN THE FIRST ROUND in the W. Conference.

This, of course, would leave the 5-seed San Jose Sharks as the top-seeded team in the conference, thus giving us the home ice advantage.

They did it, Seth! Final score: Anaheim 3 Calgary 0

So now the 2nd round is set. It will be Buffalo/Ottawa and New Jersey/Carolina in the East and Anaheim/Colorado and Edmonton/San Jose in the West.

Check back here for a preview tomorrow night.

And now San Jose has home ice advantage in the West.

Not bad for a team that looked out of the picture at quite a few points in the year

At the beginning, I thought it would be Ottawa vs Detroit in the Finals. Now that I think about it, it might be a rematch of 2003 between the Ducks and Devils.

They were out of it until they made that big trade with Boston to get Joe Thornton. He came in and turned them completely around. For that alone he should be named MVP.

And just where are the Bruins today?
