This is the first I've heard about these two:

Designing Women and Home Improvement were already known I think.

A Different World was already public. NewsRadio wasn't, so it is finally good to talk about that!

Newsradio was always an underrated show. I think that's a good pickup.

Yeah, Pav spoiled ADW quite a while ago...

Eh about NewsRadio. It's not a family show and it'll probably be treated like other shows were, eventually pushed to early morning slots....

I'm freakin' happy about "NewsRadio." I can honestly say now that N@N is okay. :) I am worried about the ratings, however, just the fact that N@N feels the show is good enough to be on their network makes me thrilled!

That makes my three of my top five favorite sitcoms having been on N@N. NewsRadio, Wings (which didn't do well) and Taxi. Now we need Ellen and Boy Meets World to come by at some point. :)

I love the DVDs, but there's just something about having your favorite show actually air on a TV channel.

On second thought if NewsRadio bombs on N@N I'll be devastated. Because it's my #1 favorite show, I'll probably take it personally. I'll have all the episodes on DVD eventually, so it's not that I want to get the episodes on tape. It's just I want the show to be successful (because it certainly wasn't in it's original run).

Does anyone know how well the "NewsRadio" DVDs sell? I mean, is the high sales N@N's reason for purchasing the show?

A year or two ago this would have been GREAT news. With both shows on DVD I couldn't really care less.

About NewsRadio,
Now in June, season four comes out. So at least you'll get to see the final season before buying the DVD. A lot of fans don't like season five, though. However, I love it (not as much as the other seasons, though).

The exciting thing about this is that "NewsRadio" has vanished from television. Except of course whenever anyone pops in their DVDs. This is a huge honor for the show. Even though I haven't been liking N@N in the recent years, it's still an honor to be on the network. Which is the exact reason I get so steamed when a show I hate makes it to N@N. lol

Okay Adam, time to come clean. Were you secretly one of the producers of Newsradio? A consultant? Key grip? Best boy? What's your connection with this show?!?!? Tell us NOW!!!!

I'm no producer of it. But since I'm always recommending it, I do feel responsible in a way. I also feel proud of it. It's the kind of show I would like to be a part of.

I taped the show for a while in it's original run on NBC. The summer of 1995, I watched my tape of season one over and over and over again. And there's only seven episodes in the first season.

This show helped get me through high school.

And John Ritter fans who don't want the DVD will be able to watch the Ritter episode of NewsRadio. :)
