View Full Version : AI5: Final 5 Performances - official spoiler/discussion thread James"Thunder"Early 05-02-2006, 12:36 PM For tonight David 05-02-2006, 07:58 PM I'm excited! I hope everyone does well. Usually top 5 nights are great, so I hope this is also. EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 08:04 PM Eliott Yamin "On Broadway" Scott sang this last year on top 5 week and got eliminated...on top 5 week  uh oh he's doing a pretty good job. not the best vocal, but good performance. 8/10 ACE IS IN THE AUDIENCE  Randy: Very nice, good ending, rough beginning Paula: You have a rich voice, well done Simon: Disjointed. You're lucky you've got two songs tonight (hmm he said the same thing to Anthony last year on top 5 week and he went first...) David 05-02-2006, 08:06 PM Elliott Yamin - On Broadway I thought it was kind of shaky, and I thought he could have done better. Not his best, but it was still really good. 8.5/10 EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 08:11 PM Paris Bennett "Kiss"- Prince Pretty good. One of her better performances. 9/10 Randy: It was nice. I liked it. Paula: I love when you sing songs from the past era. Simon: Screechy and annoying. EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 08:15 PM Chris Daughtry "Renegade"- Styx REALLY good. One of his best. 10/10 Randy: We've got a real hot one tonight! Paula: Outstanding. You set a bar for everyone else. Simon: A million times better then the first two performances. Great choice of song. EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 08:22 PM Katharine McPhee "Against All Odds"- Phil Colins Pretty good. Not the best. She's had better though. 8/10 Randy: It was ok Paula: Not my favorite performance from you Simon: It was a mess, but you're lucky that you have another performance. EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 08:25 PM Tayor Hicks "Play That Funky Music" His best yet. By far. 9.5/10 Randy: I felt like I was in a bar drinking something. Wow Paula: It was great Simon: A horrible wedding performance EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 08:34 PM Eliott Yamin "Home"- Micheal Buble It was alright. 7/10 Randy: Very nice. Paula: It was great. We felt the richness of your voice. Simon: I wouldn't have chosen that song. EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 08:37 PM Paris Bennett Again, alright. Started off rough but she ended it well. 8.5/10 Randy: You rocked it. I liked that Paula: You got Mary's vibe, but you didn't add your own twist to it. Simon: You got it right. Cactus Jack 05-02-2006, 08:40 PM Elliott , pretty good, alrightsecond time Paris, ok, nto basad second time Chris-AWESOME!!! Katahrine-AWESOME!!! Taylor-AWESOME!!! Him and Ryan layign on the floor together Raylor :rotflmao: EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 08:44 PM Chris Daughtry "I Dare You" I think he's doing really good. His last performance was better though. He shouts a lot in this one. 9/10 Randy: It was just "alright" for me. Paula: Not my favorite song. I love you Simon: You had a good first song, so you'll be fine. eltonfan80 05-02-2006, 08:46 PM chris was awsome tonite the best :D EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 08:47 PM Katharine McPhee "Black Horse and a Cherry Tree" lol this song is hilarious to me for some reason. i think she's doing pretty well though. 9/10 Randy: Thats more of the Katharine I grew to love. Paula: Good choreography. Better then the first Simon: Good choice of song. Cactus Jack 05-02-2006, 08:49 PM Chris and Katharien were AWESOME!!! I love Black ZHorse and Cherry Tree EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 08:55 PM Taylor Hicks some Beatles song. Kinda boring for me. 7.5/10 Randy: Great song, nice tender moment. Paula: Daring song choice, you did it great, you "moved it tenderly". Simon: You're a very, very good singer. EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 08:55 PM Chris and Katharien were AWESOME!!! I love Black ZHorse and Cherry Tree i'll say what i said earlier- you love EVERY song  Cactus Jack 05-02-2006, 08:56 PM Taylor-Eh David 05-02-2006, 09:11 PM So all my votes go to Elliott and Kat tonight :D G-Force Glockstar 05-02-2006, 09:57 PM My rankings for tonight: 1. KATHARINE--OMG she did so AWESOME!!! 2. Paris--She was good, but it seemed like she was trying to be like Kellie 3. Elliott--Not bad, but I still want him to go tomorrow 4. Taylor--Where did he go? I wasn't that into him singing tonight..... 5. Chris--What happened??? He wasn't horrible, but I just didn't enjoy him that well tonight. Sorry, JMO. I wish Kellie were there :( EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 09:58 PM My rankings for tonight: 1. Sorry, JMO. I wish Kellie were there :( really? i could see his second one being like that, but his first one was AMAZING  G-Force Glockstar 05-02-2006, 10:18 PM really? i could see his second one being like that, but his first one was AMAZING  His first one I gave him an 8.....IMO, he usually does better than he did tonight. I still like him though! EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 10:28 PM His first one I gave him an 8.....IMO, he usually does better than he did tonight. I still like him though! his first one i thought was a 10, it was like, his second best. his second was was an 8.5-ish for me. ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 05-02-2006, 11:14 PM Elliott <3. Taylor was amazing!!! Man he put me in the best mood. Chris was good the first time, but the 2nd was just painful. The screaming thing needs to stop. I thought Paris was good with Kiss. Kat was horrendous though with Against All Odds. Why must they all sing past Idols songs?! Seriously Im so damn sick of that song. Plus she sang it aweful. David 05-02-2006, 11:17 PM Looks like Katharine is out :( I got through most of the time. Boo. G-Force Glockstar 05-02-2006, 11:21 PM Looks like Katharine is out :( I got through most of the time. Boo. PLEASE DON'T SAY THAT!!!!! She was really the only reason I wanted to watch the show tonight!!! Karen* 05-03-2006, 02:14 AM Looks like Katharine is out :( I got through most of the time. Boo. I hope she's not out...but I think based on her performances tonight, she should be in the bottom three. :o Karen* 05-03-2006, 02:30 AM So...I'm embarrassed and proud at the same time to admit that I broke my own voting record tonight. Drumroll please... Beating my previous record of 350 votes for Elliott Yamin on top 8 week... 614 votes for Chris Daughtry tonight on top 5 week. :eek2: Sorry...just had to get that out. :o  Anyway...my thoughts on tonight. ELLIOTT A. On Broadway - It was really good! Thought he sang it like he owned it...I think he oversang some parts though. Scott Savol's version sounded purer. But I liked it. Great song choice! 8.2/10. B. Home - Great, GREAT vocal, boring song. -_- 8.6/10. PARIS A. Kiss - I didn't like the song, but it was a pretty good vocal and a pretty good performance. 7.6/10. B. Be Without You - I LOVE this song! And...she sang it REALLY well. One of her best performances yet! 8.8/10. CHRIS A. Renegade - An authentic Chris performance! 'NUFF SAID. 9.7/10. B. I Dare You - As a Chris fan, I hate to say this, but some of the high notes were just painful. :( He rocked out though. 8.1/10. KATHARINE A. Against All Odds - Didn't like it too much. She sang an overdone song AND she oversang it. Probably one of her worst performances to date. 6.9/10. B. Black Horse and the Cherry Tree - I was glad to see her sing something upbeat. The whole floor/musical accompanists thing was unique. Really, really great performance to balance out the average one. 8.7/10. TAYLOR A. Play that Funky Music - It was a good performance, but I felt like the song was TOO much. Good way to hype the crowd up though...7.2/10. B. Something - Thought it was sort of a snoozefest, but I guess it was a nice change from the wild, crazy Taylor we saw in the first performance. Plus, it was a really good vocal. 7.8/10. RANKINGS (Birth Year) 1. Chris 2. Elliott 3. Paris 4. Taylor 5. Katharine RANKINGS (This Week's Billboard) 1. Paris 2. Katharine 3. Elliott 4. Chris 5. Taylor I think the bottom three will be Katharine, Paris, and Elliott, though I'd rather have Taylor in there than Elliott. -_- G-Force Glockstar 05-03-2006, 06:47 AM I hope she's not out...but I think based on her performances tonight, she should be in the bottom three. :o But she did the BEST last night!!! :D G-Force Glockstar 05-03-2006, 06:48 AM . 614 votes for Chris Daughtry tonight on top 5 week. :eek2:  HOW??!!! I can't even get in ONCE!!! KissMyGrits 05-03-2006, 06:50 AM Of all the performances I think that the guys did the best. Elliott's performance was just okay for me tonight. I thought his choice of a Michael Buble was a good choice. I love the song and I thought he performed it relatively well. I am not a Taylor fan at all, but I loved the song he sang from his birth year. I loved how he danced around and looked like he was having fun. Paris's performance from her birth year was just downright odd. I am not a Prince fan and can't believe that she would try something like that. Her second song was much better and my son actually sang along with it. LOL!! I Kat's performance from her birth year was just downright painful for me to listen to. I love the song, but it is too overdone. I loved Chris's performance from his birth year. Even my husband thought he did well. My husband is a huge Styx fan so coming from him that is a compliment. LOL! I have to admit I had never heard the second song he performed. I thought he did pretty well. My ranking for last night are: 1. Chris 2. Taylor 3. Elliott 4. Kat 5. Paris Cactus Jack 05-03-2006, 07:34 AM Katharine McPhee "Against All Odds"- Phil Colins Pretty good. Not the best. She's had better though. 8/10 Randy: It was ok Paula: Not my favorite performance from you Simon: It was a mess, but you're lucky that you have another performance. I TOHUGHT HERES WAS THE BEST PEFROMANCE OF HTHAT SONG YET!!!! Cactus Jack 05-03-2006, 07:39 AM But I agree it wasnt her best, but man, evrey week Kat and Chris just amaze me even more evry week. I think they're my fav contestants ever  missjohnR 05-03-2006, 12:02 PM I thought the guys were great. I think they are safe. I think Kat and Paris will be in the bottom 2. Here are my Rate picks. 1. Taylor 2. Chris 3. Elliott 4. Katherine 5. Paris I liked Katherine's second performance and Chris's first. I think both will have a great future and sell A LOT of records no dought. Paris on the other hand, I didn't like it. I don't like R & B music. Maybe that's why. But I do like other types. EmoJoe 05-03-2006, 02:45 PM But I agree it wasnt her best, but man, evrey week Kat and Chris just amaze me even more evry week. I think they're my fav contestants ever  carrie is my favorite contestant ever. then chris. then kelly. i'm pretty sure that it's gonna be an eliott/paris bottom 2, with paris leaving. 80sTrivia 05-03-2006, 05:51 PM I really loved Katharine's performance of "Black Horse and The Cherry Tree", she did awesome! I also loved Chris and Elliot's performances last night! :) Karen* 05-03-2006, 07:20 PM But she did the BEST last night!!! :D No. :p Chris pretty much blew me away with Renegade. Kat almost killed Against All Odds, though Black Horse and the Cherry Tree was AWESOME. EmoJoe 05-03-2006, 07:21 PM No. :p Chris pretty much blew me away with Renegade. Kat almost killed Against All Odds, though Black Horse and the Cherry Tree was AWESOME. agreed Karen* 05-03-2006, 07:21 PM I TOHUGHT HERES WAS THE BEST PEFROMANCE OF HTHAT SONG YET!!!! I liked Scott's version better. Karen* 05-03-2006, 07:22 PM  agreed Yeah, though I didn't like the way Chris's voice "went" in the second song. :( I still thought he did a good job with it though. We already know the guy's a rock star no matter what he sings. ;) Cactus Jack 05-03-2006, 08:29 PM I liked Scott's version better. Ok Ill admit it, ditto, vocally But Katahrine is 39434789752489 times better Cactus Jack 05-03-2006, 08:29 PM  agreed Ditto Cactus Jack 05-03-2006, 08:35 PM Has anyone seen the video for Black Hors eand Cherry Tree? All it is is KT Tusntall+ guitar+drum+black background=the video I Love John Ritter 05-04-2006, 06:39 PM I liked Scott's version better. Me too. |
