View Full Version : What's your opinion on C's?
G-Force Glockstar 05-01-2006, 10:56 PM Are they really that bad, do u think?? Cause whenever I get a C in school, my parents get kinda mad.....if I get a C on my report card, sometimes they ground me. But I really don't see how a C is so bad....I mean I know they're not as good as A's and B's, but C is average, which is right in the middle.
What's your opinion about C's? IMO, anything above a D+ is good.
AllIWantIsYourClutch 05-01-2006, 10:59 PM C's are fine as long as they aren't on report cards, is my theory.
~LadyJess~ 05-01-2006, 11:00 PM I was brought up in a household where only A's and B's were acceptable. Sometimes even B's weren't good enough, my parents knew what my brothers and I were capable of and pushed us to always get the best grade possible. So, because of that upbringing I am not one who is happy with C's.
Now if it was my kids, I would still push them to do the best they can do but if they have a really hard time in a certain subject and the best they can do is C's I won't be hard on them because of it.

Usually that's how it is here in my household too.....I've gotten all A's and B's on my report card before so whenever I get C's they get mad because they think I can do better than that.....but really, school is getting harder!
swedeace 05-01-2006, 11:11 PM As I have heard many times in a joke: "C's get degrees."
Mikado 05-01-2006, 11:56 PM Take that C as a challenge, use it as a positive and improve on it!! :)
Karen* 05-02-2006, 01:16 AM I'd rather get a C than anything below that, but only in classes that I don't give two craps about (Meaning math and science ;) ).
Mr. Television 05-02-2006, 01:20 AM C is for cookie and that's good enough for me. :D
Brad Russ 05-02-2006, 02:39 AM What's your opinion about C's? IMO, anything above a D+ is good.
I feel the same. I sucked at school, so I was always happy to see C's on my report card. There's nothing wrong with being average.
Mijada 05-02-2006, 05:56 AM I don't think they're all that bad. I got a bunch of them in school and I survived and went on to college. If my kid brought one home I wouldn't get mad as long as I know he tried his best. Not everyone is going to be a straight A student all the time. School comes very easy to some people while others have to struggle. I remember my dad getting ticked off whenever I brought a bad grade home but never once did he offer to help me with homework when I was having trouble. I think parents need to spend more time with kids and their school work when thry are little so they won't have so many problems when they reach HS/College.

C's are not bad.

My parents were like that. That's why they were happy with me if I got a C in any kind of math class, because they know how hard I struggle with that subject. If I made less than an A in English, I was in trouble.

Same here. I never got C's in math but that's the only subject where it was ok if I got a low B. But as I got older, their expectations became my expectations. The third quarter of my French IV class I was getting an A- and even that wasn't good enough, I forced myself to bring it up to a solid A.
Yeah, major grade whore right here.
I usually get C's in at least 2 or 3 classes so I don't throw a fit over a C.
EmoJoe 05-02-2006, 02:49 PM well, personally, i don't like Cs...and i get upset when i get them. but techinally, it's average.
MaydayMalonesGirl 05-02-2006, 04:01 PM if i got a c on my report card in any other class besides algebra i'd probably be upset. but my parents could care less.
Sara Micelli 05-02-2006, 04:41 PM They're not bad, but I don't like getting anything less than an A-.
dawsongirl 05-02-2006, 04:50 PM In high school, C's were totally unacceptable to me. My parents might have been disappointed over them, but they wouldn't have thrown a fit. I never got a C on a report card anyway.
In college however, I didn't give a crap what I got. If I needed a C to get out of the class without having to take it over, I aimed for that C. I didn't give a **** what my grades were in most classes. I just wanted out.
dawsongirl 05-02-2006, 04:51 PM As I have heard many times in a joke: "C's get degrees."
Got me one!
dawsongirl 05-02-2006, 04:55 PM School comes very easy to some people while others have to struggle.
That's me and my mom. I managed to skip classes in college for weeks at a time and still get a 3.2 GPA (I don't recommend that to anyone btw lol), while my mom got C's in HS even if she studied her ass off. So my mom was just glad I didn't fail.
G-Force Glockstar 05-02-2006, 06:03 PM I hate it.....sometimes I'll study for hours and STILL get average/bad grades! :(
It just started this year.....

that's been happening to me in math. i went in for help three lunch periods before a test and i failed it anyways. stupid algebra.
Nighthawk76 05-02-2006, 06:10 PM I guess it all depends on the class. If it was a math course and I got a C I would have been more then happy, but if I ever got a C in a history or literature course (not that I ever did) I would have been beyond angry. In college I had to take Psychology twice to get a C and I was just happy that I got one the second time around.

same with me.

I used to skip my college math classes all the time.
swedeace 05-02-2006, 06:38 PM Got me one!
Me too! :D
~LadyJess~ 05-02-2006, 06:51 PM I used to skip my college math classes all the time.
Me too, I usually skipped the Friday classes. Maybe that's why I got a 2.0 in both of my college math classes.
But like Cathy said, now that I am in college I just aim to pass the class and get out, I could care less about my grades.
Brad Russ 05-03-2006, 12:13 AM In the end really, I think it all comes down to each individual. If there's a guy who's capable of getting A's and B's, but he chooses not to do his best, and just settles for C's, in that situation I think getting C's would be wrong. On the other hand thouigh, you can have someone who works there ass off, and does the absolute best they can, but only gets C's, and in that situation, C's are okay, because they are doing the best they can. So in the end, it truly does come down to each individual.
Superstar 05-03-2006, 03:22 AM I think a C is fine. If I get a C, I'm happy.
moeee 05-03-2006, 03:27 AM C's are ok with me. Youre passing, so its no big deal.
MsOrange 05-03-2006, 09:42 AM Cs are better than Ds

I used to hate C's but I've been getting alot of D's in science lately so I think C's aren't bad. I don't get many C's though, mostly Bs

It is so hard to want to go to math.
