I read somewhere that Esther didn't like the Moses Gunn character, she felt like Florida would have never moved on so quickly after James death and Esther didn't like the fact that he didn't have any quailities that Florida would have wanted in a mate. So that's why his character didn't come back

I agree with that. There is no way that Florida would marry an atheist.

That's true, but I just prefer someone not to answer one of my questions in that type of way. For example, I would like to know what the ratings was for Good Times after season 5, and defintely don't want to hear-"I think I remember READING SOMEWHERE that the show was ranked in the 70's-lol

Then my advice to you is to keep truckin' and hope that someone does post the info that you need to see or hear

I also heard it on THS so that's one of my sources and they said that by the time Esther got back on the show that the damage had been done ratings wise so the 6th season was the last season.

"Rolle had disliked the Carl Dixon character, as she believed Florida would have not moved on so quickly after James' death. Rolle also thought the writers had disregarded Florida's devout Christian beliefs by making her fall for Carl, who was an atheist. When Rolle eventually agreed to return to the show, one of the conditions on which she insisted was that the Carl Dixon character be written out as if he never existed. This made the Carl Dixon character an example of Chuck Cunningham syndrome."

That was from wikipedia

No. Why was Florida being such a whiney baby instead of letting her husband leave to make bucks!

Why was Florida so partial to orange? It was mild on "Maude", but on "Good Times", she let herself go.
