What are some of the different ways you made money as a kid?? I use to think of all kinds of creative ways to make money, but my favorite was always can collecting. I use to do that all the time during the Summer. I would go from door to door, asking people if they had any pop or beer cans. One Summer, I made over $100.00 in three weeks, and believe me, for a 13 year old, that was alot of money. That ended up being the best Fourth of July ever for me, since I spent about $80.00 of it on fireworks. There was this one lady, who use to leave her cans in an empty trash bin for me, and I would pick them up every month or so. I remember she use to always say to me, "boy, are you ever lucky I'm an alcoholic." She was right too. I usually walked away from her house with atleast $15.00 worth of cans. Another thing I liked about can collecting, was all the cool people I got the chance to meet. I met great neighbors, and made some really cool friends, who I never would have met, had I not collected cans. I also met alot of really hot girls that way, which, as a 13 year old, is really awesome!! :D

Anyway, what are some of the best ways you all made money as kids??

i cleaned my grandma's house, she woudl always let me to small jobs for money around her house. Then as I got about 15, I had a HUGE babysitting job. I literally had about 10 families I babysat for, but has I turned 17 and got more into going out, and having a real job, I slowly let that go. At about 16, i started working @ a grocery store and was tehre till I was about 20.

One summer when I was a kid, I think I was about 9 or so, I was obsessed with making money, lol. I had a kool-aid stand and my best friend, her brother, and my brother also worked it. It didn't last too long though, LOL!!! Then I got the brilliant idea of selling rocks door to door on our street, LOL!!!!

I pretty much screwed people out of money being that I can con anyone to do anything. Once, we shaved my friend's dog's hair and convinced people he needed life saving surgery and we got $300 in 1 day:D .

Well when I was a young kid(in the 50's) my sisters and I would walk around my grandma's neighborhood and pick up pop bottles. At that time they had a 2cent refund. But we could buy a lot of candy for 10cents! Another thing that we "tried" to do was that we would strip small limbs and branches from trees and try to sell them to the neighbor's for switches to spank their kids with. Remember this was the 50's and all kids got spanked. So we just thought that we would help them out! Well that didn't work out too well. Guess we were asking too much money for them(a penny apiece)

In high school I worked part time in a small grocery store in my small town. In fact that is where I met my husband. His parents had a hardware store across the street.
I also babysat .

Too bad this wasn't the 1960's. Then you could have gone to Michael Jackson's house, and sold them to his father. You'd have been rich!!

I used to take money i'd see around the house. I got caught though. My mom was wondering why at 10 years old I had $500 in my underwear draw.

Asked dad for money.

I babysat when I got older. One summer I made a deal with my mom that I'd be the maid if I didn't have to go out and get a real job. I was 16.

One time, my mom paid me $10.00 for not talking for a whole day. I think that ended up being one of the best days of her life.

Other ways I made money as a kid, was selling kool aid, selling baseball, football, and basketball cards, and when I was really young, I collected cans from high school and middle school garbage cans.

I got an allowance when I was really young. Then I babysat when I was old enough sometimes. Mostly if I needed money for something my parents would just give it to me. After awhile I didn't get an allowance anymore I just got money whenever I needed it for something. I didn't get a real job until I was 19 ! I had just turned 19. After I graduated high school I knew I was going to take off for a year and work. My parents said I could take the summer off and start looking for a job in the fall. Well, by the time I found one it was October and I turned 19 in October.
