View Full Version : Who pays for HBO, CINEMAX and other paid cable channels?
Ireneparalegal 04-30-2006, 10:34 PM I have them all except Cinemax.
I have HBO because I love their documentaries. I really love AUTOPSY as well.
I love Showtime and the show with Penn and Teller it's called PENN & TELLER: BULLS**T.
This series is so frickin' hilarious!!!!! they talk and analyze abt different things, but they do it in their own way and it's super funny. anyone else watch it?
dawsongirl 04-30-2006, 10:41 PM We get Skinamax, but only my dad watches it. We used to get HBO, but it was getting too expensive to keep them both, so dad agreed to keeping Cinemax because they show more movies.
Mr. Television 04-30-2006, 10:43 PM I get HBO, Showtime and the Starz-Encore channels.

  I go to bed real late. Night time is the best time to watch television. Especially when everyone else is asleep and no one is bugging. Peace and tranquility. Right now I have the t.v. on PBS and I am listening to some nature show abt lions in Africa...

That's true, although last week I watched an HBO 2-part movie event, Elizabeth I. It was a lovely period piece starring Helen Mirren and Jeremy Irons.
It reminded me of a Merchant Ivory film. You would have loved it Brian. ;)
Actually, I adored it. It was a lavish production and a very interesting story.

Brad Russ 05-01-2006, 02:52 AM I just have Showtime, and Encore. I did have all five movie channels back when the cable bill was split between four people in my household, but now, since only me and one of my roomates pay, we can only afford this package. I miss HBO the most. The main thing I miss, are their documentaries, and their sports programs, particularly the boxing. Showtime has boxing too, but the quality of their fighters isn't nearly as good as HBO's IMO.

swedeace 05-01-2006, 01:50 PM They're all normally extra paid channels, but HBO is free in my apartment complex (the cable is as well), so I get it all for free while I live here. :D

Yes, Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel is an awesome show. They did a 10th anniversary episode awhile back with all the shows most memorable moments and stuff, which was really good. I even taped that one. Have you ever seen the HBO documentary from 2003 called My Flesh and Blood?? If you haven't, I highly highly recommend it. It's the best documentary Iv'e ever seen, and it airs from time to time.
