on the thread in the All In The Family forum, Brian Damage stated he believes 704 Hauser Street to be a spin-off. Everyone like me agreed.

Solomon stated NO. Why??? ok here is the funny part, here is his quote from that thread:

It's not listed in the Directory of Primetime TV shows as a spinoff.<<<<Solomon's words!!!!

So, according to Solomon, THE DIRECTORY OF PRIMETIME TV SHOWS states for a show to be a spin-off, it has to be listed in this book.

Well folks, here is what i found IN THAT SAME BOOK:

According to "The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows, 1946-Present," which counts "grandchildren," AITF is the all-time spin-off champion. "All in the Family's" three official spin-offs were "Gloria," "The Jeffersons" and "Maude." "Maude" spun-off "Good Times" and "The Jeffersons" spun-off "Checking In" (a short-lived series featuring Marla Gibbs' Florence character). That makes a total of five AITF spin-offs.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU...*Irene bows*

Don't forget Archie Bunker's Place of course that book doesn't count that as a spin-off..

I know it's wrong about another show though. It lists the Lucy Show as having lasted 12 years but it counts Here's Lucy as being part of the Lucy Show even though they were different characters.

Well out of all the shows that have been debated, GT is the one that has received thee most attention with us. So, how can the researcher use the book to back up something he says is the truth and yet, not use the book to back up something we have been saying? double-edged sword!

There is nothing you can post unless it's from someone who played a part in creating the show that will support your argument. No matter what a book says, if the EP said it's not a spinoff, then that's the end
