View Full Version : Is algebra hard for you?
Makoto_Shinobi 04-30-2006, 08:51 AM Right now my algebra turned out too easily and I wonder why did I get an easy one instead of hard ones. Oh well, I guess that my parents didn't like to see me go to algebra 2, so instead I go to algebra 1.
What's your opinion about the difficulty of algebra?
Mijada 04-30-2006, 09:01 AM I didn't have too many problems with Algebra I or II, mainly because I had a very good teacher and the book explained things very well. Trigonometry on the other hand was a different story.

Well, I'm glad that I didn't have Trigonometry in my school, since I think it's really hard for me. Geometry is very difficult for me to understand. Many of these problems are hard to remember also to me. I didn't have any problems in Algebra I at least. :)
peter may 04-30-2006, 09:06 AM ah algebra, what a waste of time, havent needed it to use it once in my life since school
Im a big deal 04-30-2006, 10:04 AM it is so easy. it also depends on the math teacher though. in 7th grade i got C's in it the whole time and in 8th and 9th ive gotten all A's.
i love algebra!
MaydayMalonesGirl 04-30-2006, 10:08 AM I've failed basically every test I've taken in algebra I & II this year. I have no idea why I'm in an honors class this marking period. But I'm getting a C, so I don't really care.
EmoJoe 04-30-2006, 10:48 AM yeah, it is pretty hard for me
Superstar 04-30-2006, 11:45 AM Algebra was hard for me at first but now I think its really easy. Same with trigonometry, I find that fairly easy too.
I was a horrible math student in school. So Algebra, his sicko brother algebra II and triganometry were my mortal enemies.
;)
KristinHerreraFan 04-30-2006, 12:02 PM Math wasn't really ever my thing, thats why in my freshman year (last year) I was in Algebra 1a (first half of algebra) and this year (sophomore year) I am in Algebra 1b (second half of algebra) Alg 1 a/b is for students that don't really like math, so these classes go at a much slower pace, next year I'll be in Informal Geometry and senior year I'll be in Algebra 2
And don't get me started about Geometry either!
Courtnee 04-30-2006, 12:38 PM nope. Algebra is relatively easy for me. :D
Jonathan 04-30-2006, 01:00 PM No, it comes easy to me.
Crimson and Clover 04-30-2006, 06:38 PM Depends on whos teaching it. It was hard in high school, but my college teacher is really good and i can understand it now.
AllIWantIsYourClutch 04-30-2006, 06:51 PM I like algebra. I like geometry. Calculus is a killer though.

I take calculus my senior year :)
~LadyJess~ 04-30-2006, 07:02 PM I did pretty good in both my algebra classes. Geometry, trig, and calculus were different stories though. But then again I had really good teachers in algebra and bad teachers in the others.
Funny story actually. I DESPISED my high school geometry teacher with a passion as did my mom, she called the school more than once to complain about him. The funny thing is, he turned out to be my boyfriend's cousin so now I see him whenever I go to family functions.
Georgia's on my Mind 04-30-2006, 09:40 PM algebra is fine...calculus kills me though

Same here. I loved my Algebra 1 teacher. And I somehow managed to get out of Trig with an A...nowadays I'd be too lazy to try hard enough to do that.

My first Calc test...I got a D- and the teacher made a question on my test an example in class, more or less calling it a very stupid error, so I quit that day. Screw Calculus. :)
Yooch 04-30-2006, 11:58 PM Algebra was not hard, or any math for that matter. The key was not just understanding it but practicing it. My grade would invariably go up or down in direct proportion to the amount of homework I did.
Chain Gang Member 05-01-2006, 11:18 AM Algebra in high school isn't hard, but if you're asking about algebra in college,OH HELL YEAH!
Considering I nearly failed it, yes, it was hard.
Heart Shaped Box 05-01-2006, 04:19 PM Well I should be in Pre-Algerbra but I took a test last year and I got in honors class this year, so now I have Algerbra..but I really hate it lol. The teacher hardly explains stuff to us, and when she does, they don't even make sense at all. Plus I think I heard last year she had like a mental breakdown..isn't that lovely. There are sometimes when I really get something, and then other times when I have no idea what I'm doing.
Moonlight Lady 05-01-2006, 04:37 PM Yes, I hated algebra in school.
