Or so IMDB reports. On their MASH board they mention that Stevenson later (on the set of Different Strokes) met actor Conrad Bain who had been on the horror soap Dark Shadows and Bain like all Dark Shadows members (the Imdb board claims) had a very bad, otherworldly psyche about him and this caused the normal Maclean Stevenson to become traumatized heavily while working with Bain. I saw plenty of outtakes of Mash and Stevenson was a very normal guy did his association with Bain cause Stevenson serious psychological problems? Anyone?

Sounds like Hollywood tabloid gobbledy-gook, to me, no offense

Yeah...I've never heard this. I heard that on the set of MASH, McClean was a bit of a prankster...maybe it was just misinterpreted elsewhere?

Are actually the same Matt Laur who works with Meredith Viera? Isn't your last name spelled Lauer? But hey you could be and just made a mistake. Tell the babish Viera I said hello if you are! I have heard this Stevenson traumatized by Bain rumour before--on a Mash website. Maybe its true.

Perfectly possible that Stevenson feared Bain knowing the latter had been on a horror show.

I am wondering if BEST MAN and MATT LAUER are actually the same person. They seem to say the same thing and posted on the same threads.

I HIGLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY doubt very much that that's true about McLean. Like another poster said it sounds like just more "hollywood tabloid gobbelty-gook".
Just like the rumors that they killed Henry Blake because the producers, writers, cast, and crew hated him and were sick of working with him, or the one that says when they filmed that final scene in "ABBYSYNIA HENRY" he was in his dressing room listening, and when he heard Gary Burghoff say that final line, he got so mad he stormed out of the building.

Or the one that the reason they decided to end the series was becsuse the cast got tired of Alan Aldas ego in the later shows.

Only Matt and I know that for sure, Irene. Course I could have just read his postings by clicking on his name--like you did mine! Maybe I just agree with what Matt said about Charles aka David Ogden Stiers and McLean Stevenson's fear of Bain (Matt did have IMDB to back him up on that last one)!
