View Full Version : What was your first car?
retrochick9 04-28-2006, 02:37 PM I had a 1985 burgandy Chrysler Laser, I don't think I was ever more excited about anything in my life!!! I skipped school so much I'm surprised I graduated LOL!!!! Luckily my parents didn't find out I was skipping school until I was almost done AND I was getting good grades so I felt like they had no argument, LOL I wasn't the smartest person as a teenager, lol
80s_Fan 04-28-2006, 02:41 PM My first car was a (BMW)..........................(bus/metro/walk)
*MIBabe03* 04-28-2006, 02:48 PM I still have my first car. A silver 97 Honda Civic hatchback. I love that car.
swedeace 04-28-2006, 02:49 PM A 2000 Ford Focus. That thing was frighteningly a death trap because it had so many problems and quite a few recalls. I was seriously looking into exchanging that thing for something more reliable, but it caught on fire before I could look into selling. It, literally, burned in flames. I mean LITERALLY. It happened while my mom, my sister, and I vacationed in Mexico while it was parked at my deceased grandparents' house.
Luckily, no one was in the car, and even if it was at their house, the house walls were made of adobe. Therefore, the house was NOT affected, especially since my mom and some of our relatives were sleeping inside the house. It happened early one Saturday morning a day after my grandfather's funeral.
I swore that would be THE last time I'll be an American-made car especially since it was a brand new in the market vehicle at the time. This time, I have a Mitsubishi Galant which is MUCH more reliable. I've had it for two years now.
gilligan fanatic 04-28-2006, 02:50 PM It's not technically mine because it is not in my name but the car I drive now is a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee

 I hear ya about that. Anyway my first car was a 2002 Cavalier. I loved it, but I have a Pontiac G6 now...soo much nicer.
KissMyGrits 04-28-2006, 03:53 PM My first car cost me $500 and was a 1974 dodge coronet. We called it the brown boat because it could go thru huge puddles!! LOL!!
Fleet 04-28-2006, 04:44 PM My first car was a '66 Dodge Dart GT V-8. Owned from June, 1979 to April, 2002, but I was not the regular driver of it from 1995-2002 because I bought other cars (Cadillacs).
The Dart was very reliable and being a car guy I modified the engine. I just may buy another Mopar someday (something like a '69 Dodge Coronet R/T 440-Magnum).
retrochick9 04-28-2006, 06:43 PM Guy????

Dutabi84 04-28-2006, 06:49 PM '88 Mazda B2200. It was pretty cool..except durring winter time. That little thing would slide all over the road. Which was fun when intending to do so, but inconvenient when you need to come to a stop.
Brieannas21 04-28-2006, 06:58 PM 1989 Buick Skylark I got that car when I turned 16. My mom and dad didn't want to buy me a new car, so they bought me a old one so that I could bang it up LOL.

dawsongirl 04-29-2006, 03:14 AM A 1989 Cavalier. My dad bought it at a salvage yard. He and a friend rebuilt it (the back was crashed in). Not a bad little car for a new driver.

omg...my dad's best friend had one of those as a loner car for his business and I loved it, mainly because it had automatic seatblets. At the time, I thought that was the coolest thing ever.

I don't think mine had automatic seatbelts or automatic anything for that matter. It was a rusted out piece of junk but it was better than nothing.
