One NYIT student killed, three injured in car accident

(04/26/06) OLD BROOKVILLE - One New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) student is dead and three others injured after a car accident on Northern Boulevard in Old Brookville Wednesday.

Police say two elderly women driving west were about to make a left turn when they clipped or were clipped by a car traveling east. That car, containing the students, then spun out of control, hit a tree and ended up in the middle of the highway.

Police believe the incident was an accident and are investigating the cause of the crash. NYIT officials say grief counselors will be available for students.

So weird. Today my friend from high school who I go to school with called me and said lets not go to math today, so i didnt go to classes today. This accident happened at the same time we'd be leaving math at the exit we have to leave through. Really odd.

I know. They didn't release the info on who was involved, i'm hoping its no one I know. In the video I know all the kids they interviewed.

Turns out the kid who passed was in my Psch class. It's a huge lecture hall(maybe 60+ people) so i didn't personally know him, but sitting through that class today was the most morbid thing. I can't even imagine. Poor family.

as soon as i got in my car in the parking lot i put it on, i usually wait til after that turn were the accident happened to put it on. they said he might've survived had he had it on, he was the only one who didn't. wear your seatbelts people it's worth it.
