After years of bitter disputes, a deal has finally been reached and the rebuilding of Ground Zero in NYC will start by later this week! I am OVERJOYED!!!
Here is what the new New York skyline will look like. The skyscraper in the middle will be the new Freedom Tower. It will be the tallest building in the US, standing 1,776 feet tall. The exact number of the date when the US got its independence.

That's great news and about time. I'm really glad that they didn't go with Bill Maher's idea of putting up a Pavilion there which asks, "Why They Hate Us?".

I agree, although the memorial itself will be the last thing they build at the site. As you can imagine, that is a very tricky situation, as it is considered hallowed land. There is still a fight going on about that between victims families and the land developers.

Wow, that is cool! :D I saw Ground Zero while I was in NYC, and I would love to see the Freedom Tower when they are done building it. :)

That's very cool. I know here in Chicago we currently have the tallest building (is it still? I'm not even sure) but making the building at THAT site become the new tallest building in the country, (and with such a cool number for the height, too!) I'm more than ecstatic with what they're doing there.

I don't care for the name Freedom Tower, but love the idea of it standing at 1,776 feet.

I think it should have been a green grassed park/memorial, but, if the people of the USA are for the idea, then i guess its all good

There will be a green grassed park and memorial, but that will be built last.

I know one thing. I could never work in the new building. I'd be too scared.
