Does anyone remember the case where some Carribean people turned up dead from cyanide poison and were wet? They were conned into drinking the cyanide.

omg yeah i do, a family was told to drink a potion and pay money to a voodoo bitch who took their money and then killed them, in either a scheme to take a curse off or make them more money...i dont know if they caught that whore or not

I just watched this segment and it is really infuriating. Here is the details from the case:


"Khrishnadeth and Radha Maharaj were two locals of Hindu descent who were found dead in St. Croix. Radha died on her way to the hospital in traffic; her beloved husband was found dead sixteen miles away at the side of the road. They had two things in common: they both were saturated in sea water and they both had died of cynaide poisoning. It's believed they were the latest in a series of Obia-Man murders connected to Voodoo rituals
Edsel Striden and Carmen Torres also died of similar consequences about the same time as Khrishnadeth and Radha. All the victims had something in common; they had all recently taken out loans to pay their bills and were found dead under nearly identical means."



This story reeks of local police corruption. They conclude it was voodoo? So it isn't at all possible that some scumbag was just a clever petty thief that used cyanide to get the loan money? Give me a break, voodoo? It's stories like these that will be prevent me and anyone I can convince not to go down to the Caribbean or Central America for that matter. Too many horror stories about ******** police and scum of the earth citizens, just look at this story, Natalee Holloway, Amy Bradley, and the list goes on.

I watched this on the "new" UM yesterday and there seems to be almost no leads in this case and it may never be solved. The only details on the suspect is that he may travel around the Caribbean and the U.S. and he speaks with a french Caribbean accent. The police probably didn't do that great of a job either, its hard to believe no one knew this man or where he lived or anything about the suspect.

I'd never even heard of this case much less seen it discussed, it is pretty sick. I stumbled upon it elsewhere online, try looking for St Croix Cyanide Murders. Thankfully, it is not the new version.

I think that due to cultural differences, each of these couples thought they were going to make a lot of money and fell prey to a professional con. What I don't get is that he could have just knocked them out or something and fled town, he didn't have to kill these people. And skipped on to another island to begin again.

I'm totally sure - absolutely, positively 100% certain - that other victims exist. I have the feeling that the police have addl information about this suspect - why else would they claim that he travels frequently in mainland US? I think there are other people in St. Croix, too, who know (or, rather, knew - this was almost 25 years ago) more than they were telling. One sick motha.
