wolf11 is NO LONGER A GREAT TRADER on that other board maam

once myself, cartoondvds, joey1727, darkman and the rest showed up and posted our grievances
3 other members Of THAT BOARD spoke up about wolf11 ripping them off

SEEMS they were not willing to go 1st but were just as upset!

also the 7 discs he FINALLY sent me after 8 months???

NOT the set he owed me (that rare set had MAGICALLY disappeared from his list) he sent me 7 wrestling dvds instead, which are oh so useful to my trading collection

I think alot of times, people get excited and "greedy", if they think they are going to get something they want badly. (It's hard not to, if you've been looking for the item for a long time.) If you do a trader check & get no feedback and you're still willing to attempt the trade, only send what you can comfortably live with losing, say 1-2 discs. (You can agree to do a 2nd trade for more items if the first one goes well.) Same thing on Ebay. If a seller has stellar feedback & accepts Paypal & is selling something rare that I want badly, I'll spend top dollar for the item. The worse their feedback, the less I'm willing to spend. If they have borderline feedback & don't accept Paypal, I won't bid at all. Sometimes it's hard to face, but I figure in those cases, most likely one of two scenarios will happen. I can not have the item and still have my $$ or not have the item & be without the $$. I prefer the former. :lol: :lol: :lol:

RedWhine - Yep, that's exactly how I approach it. I'm very hesitant to trust a seller that doesn't take Paypal, unless the feedback is close to 100%. I've taken a few chances over the years, and mostly I've been very fortunate.

Even the biggest ripoff turned out to be beneficial in an odd way. I was ripped off for over $60 by our friend Richard Johnson (aka RagstoRichesFan, etc.). It was for a show I desperately wanted. I never got my money or my tapes, but I did discover the show was out there. So I started searching. And I found SitcomsOnline, a couple of other boards, and a trader who had some episodes, which lead to finding another trader who had some more, and so on. I now have more episodes than I would have gotten from him, and I've made some new friends along the way. Too bad he got to keep my money, but lesson learned.

Not all bad situations end up having such positive results. So yeah, ask around. I try to keep initial trades to 1 to 2 discs, and it's really amazing to me how many traders who approach me are hostile at the idea of such a small trade. While they may not be bad traders, they automatically move to my "never in a million years" list when that happens.
