Guys,

It has been my experiance that too many of these disks are being released too quickley with bugs. I had a problem last year with my Brady Bunch Season 1, and now recently with The White Shadow Season 2 because I had originally ordered these disks only 5 days after they had been released, and experianced disk freezing with these new releases. Quality control sure sucks these days.

My theory is that by waiting for at least 30 days from an initial release, that manufactures will have more time to get bugs out of early releases. I am ordering a replacement White Shadow disk from Amazon, so hopefully several new shipments have occured since than where I will have a good disk.

Hasn't happened yet. I bought "Gidget: The Complete Series" back in mid-March and scanned all the disks and all passed with flying colors! Hopefully when "I Love Lucy" (season 6) is released one week from tomorrow, I should be home-free. I did the same when I bought "The Munsters" (seasons 1 and 2) and both sets passed easily.

I thought you wwere going to say something about waiting 30 days after the release so that you could get the Special Edition. Many movie companies release the Special Edition a while after they release the regular edition of the movie.

Are they double sided discs. Those are the ones I have problems with, the Universals especially. DVD18's suck.

A lot of the problems are limited to only a small amount of people, and they are caused during shipping when discs become loose. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself one of those DVD cleaners - they will fix many of the problems that cause freezing. It's one of the best investments I've made, since I receive so many discs from Netflix.

You should (if you haven't already) contact Paramount's Consumer Line (323-956-3010) about your Brady Bunch DVD. They are really great about correcting DVD issues and sending replacement discs free of charge. Just leave a brief message and your phone number and someone will call you back.
As long as you have the proof of purchase stub from the DVD box you should be golden.

Also, waiting doesn't guarantee you'll get a bugless disk. You can't tell from the box and who knows how long it has been sitting there when you decide to purchase it?
