This forum's gotten a little dull lately! So, I thought I'd try to start a little controversy. (Disclaimer: I don't actually believe what I'm about to suggest.)
Moonlighting totally jumped the sharp in IACM, when M and D slept together. Once the sexual tension was gone, there was no more reason to watch really, which is why so many people stopped! Take that! (Man, I even want to smack myself around.)

I know you are only throwing the cat amongst the pigeons adyjdy so i won`t get mad ha ha  Every time i read an article on Moonlighting and why it ended like it did and when it all started to go wrong for the show , its always blamed on Maddie and David sleeping together. WRONG SO WRONG! When Im Curious... first aired on TV i could hardly wait for next episode and from what everyone i knew was saying they wanted more of the same too!
Yeah maybe the show did start to go down a different road after they got together and it did become more dramatic but i happen to think that it wasn`t a bad thing. In my opinion us the true fans had had enough of the two steps forward and one step back dance that the writers had made Maddie and David do for the past two years at that point ,don`t get me wrong ,yes we all enjoyed the flirtation and tension between them but we also wanted to see them progress to the next stage (so to speak) and make a go of having a relationship so it showed us the viewer that they meant more to each other than just lust and a quick fling.
At the end of the day to quote Agnes " we didn`t care about who killed who and thus you know ", what we really cared about was Maddie and David and their relationship so it didn`t really matter about the plots as long as the writers kept them together or at least it felt like there was a chance and that they still loved each other. So maybe in a way i`m saying that if it could be blamed on anything it probably was turning David and Maddie into pals and bringing Annie into the show!
Well there you have it, thats my views hope i didn`t ramble on for too long:)

I´m not even sure I have the energy to argue about this. Again. I would not have liked it as much if nothing ever was to happen between them. And had it happened in the very last episode, I would have been disappointed not being able to watch the progress. I agree with laura a entirely.
This was the best way to do it, considering. And the chemistry is still there, even in the first half of the 5th season. The difference is that she gets to chase after him once in a while.. I enjoy that to!

True...her chasing David was fun. But no, he had to become a jerk. ARGH I think had A----e not been brought into the picture, I would have been content. Most of the last season was okay, not great great, but okay. Definitely better than what's on now. You're right, had it ended w/ IACM, it would have left us "wanting."

Apparently the planned on ending with Perfetc. That would have left A out totally. But I still would have liked the characters to know the show was cancelled. I do not enjoy the panic, though..
