I believe he left a little after Shirley left.

Michael McKean left the show part way through Season 8 because it stated in his contract that he could leave if a distributor was ever found for "Spinal Tap". It was, and he did.

Of course, with Cindy Williams leaving the way she did, the episodes were a little messed up order-wise, and you see him popping in and out throughout the season.

Betty Garrett left the show in Season 6, and her last episode was "Child's Play". The character of "Edna" is still mentioned--but of course never shown-- until Season 8's "Short on Time" when Frank reveals that Edna left him for a jockey.

I'm surprised they kept the name "Laverne & Shirley" since Shirley had left. It kind of turned into Laverne & Squiggy haha!

can u imagine squiqqy n Lenny moving in with Laverne that would brought some intresting storylines proably wont last long either lol

I think the show should have ended after the 7th season.

now that must sucked show with laverne squiqqy carmine nobody else sounds like a real bore fest i agree it schould ended when shirley left the show n leave it at that.talk about jumping the shark big time
