View Full Version : What is? Woolworth27 04-21-2006, 10:08 PM What is Scincetology? I know that's what Leah and the rest of hollywood seem too be in? sweetdiggity 04-21-2006, 10:19 PM Based on a recent event on this board, I don't wanna be involved with a possible wildfire to come, here's the info:http://www.scientology.com/ that's all I'm sayin'  jpcanes 04-21-2006, 10:26 PM Such a WISE girl. :) sweetdiggity 04-21-2006, 10:35 PM I give Mentalo full credit, he warned me not to get involved. maybe His Majesty TM could explain what it's all about.....;) seriously though, you're right in what you said on the Sony board. It's the belief that we are all Aliens or something crazy like that. It's something a Science Fiction writer (L. Ron Hubbard) created a few years ago. I am surprised a New York gal like Remini would fall for that garbage. :( sweetdiggity 04-23-2006, 11:05 AM :wallbang Doug (and jp):"I need a beer." :drink: TryN2BGood 04-24-2006, 12:07 PM All I know is Tom Cruise is into it so it CANT be good..HA HA!! Woolworth27 04-27-2006, 11:13 PM Issac Hayes also, isn't John Travolta one two? :( :( Hope Remini wise up. Todd Marinovich 04-28-2006, 12:51 PM I see nothing wrong with that. Just my opinion. :) Good for Leah. She has a lot of money. The other actors too. Here some quotes of ex-members: Caroline Letkeman, Former scientologist, left after 24 years «I was in the cult from January 1975 until May 1999. In addition to defrauding me out of those 24 years, Scientology robbed me of more than US $60,000 for its useless, indeed dangerous "services." Scientology and its agents tricked me into purchasing these "services" with promised wonderful results, which I have discovered were utterly false. As part of their scam, the cult and its cultists threatened me into paying all this money and participating all these years with cynically manufactured menaces.» Andreas Heldal-Lund, Former scientologist «People should be free to believe whatever they want, including Scientology. What I have against Church of Scientology is its deceitfulness, its lack of compassion for its members (especially the hard-working staff), its aggressive hard sell, its arrogance, its attack on free speech, its litigiousness, its harassment of its critics, its lack of concern for families, its gross neglect and abuse of children, etc.» Catarina Pamnell, Former scientologist «By 1983, two years after reading my first Hubbard book, I had gone from a reasonably well-ordered life (steady job, friends, money in the bank, no drug or psychiatric problems, etc.) to a complete mess. I had quit my office job, and worked in the local Scientology organisation in Stockholm, Sweden, for 'wages' of around $10-15 a week. My money was all gone after paying over $10,000 for their courses. I had nowhere to live, as the person I had been renting a room from got kicked out of Scientology, which meant that other Scientologists were not allowed any contact with her. The organization's Ethics Officer told me I had to move out within 24 hours. I didn't eat or sleep much, had practically no contact anymore with my family and former friends, and was becoming increasingly depressed and unstable. So why didn't I just quit? By then, I had begun to accept the view that if any Scientology methods didn't work out very well for me, it was solely due to my own shortcomings.» Gary Weber, ex-member of the "Guardian Office" «I'm sorry to say I was a part of this Scientology Gestapo organization and probably felt much like the Nazi Youth did in pre-war Germany, full of hope, our heads filled with great promises, and willing to do anything for the "Fuehrer." It wasn't until years afterwards that I began to get help and shed these false beliefs and mental programs, which I had so vigorously defended in the name of "truth." I remember the time John Travolta would come to Clearwater and he use to say he loved Scientology but didn't like the Scientology management. Well it was our Guardian's Intelligence office that collected his "confidential confessionals" from his supposedly private and confidential counseling records to compile a dead agent package for use in case he went against the church. Since I didn't see anymore negative talk from him, I guess he was "handled".» Yeah, I see nothing wrong with that. More ex-members (http://www.xenu-directory.net/critics/index.html) HuntingtonM15 04-28-2006, 01:02 PM Opinions are welcome when it pertains to the show, but this isn't a Scientology message board. I'm still a Junior here, and I've been talking on the boards with Sweetdiggity and JP, and they are just a bunch of talkers. And can you tell I am, too? Anyway, from what I've learned on a non-KOQ show (Late Show with Craig Ferguson), is that you wear a red piece of string around your wrist. And you can ask any questions you want, and I thought it was a good one. We all can't stay up late to watch Craig Ferguson to find out what wearing a red string around your wrist means... I remember Woolworth"5 & Dimes" when I was a kid....I'm having an Arthur moment  Just to clarify, no I don't think Arthur has talked about Woolworth's, maybe he has, I don't know. But anyway, back in the day, Woolworth 5 & Dimes, had lunch counters... just childhood memories...and I'm sure Stiller & Meara would agree with me. I never said I supported Scientology. Don't put words into my mouth. If you are referring to Leah and Scientology in a reasonable manner, fine. But you didn't. You mentioned something that had nothing to do with the show, or actors, and that's not what this board is about. If you want to start a Scientology discussion, do it on the Chit Chat or Politics board. This isn't the place for it. That's why I talked about scientology on a KoQ board. If you're not interested in it, don't read it. There are enough uncritical "I love Leah" threads you can read. Yes, exactly, and that has NOTHING to do with me supporting Scientology. Honestly, I don't exactly understand Scientology, but in my opinion, many of the people who are Scientologists don't understand it, either. And no, you went off on a side rant about it, which had NOTHING to do with Leah, and as I stated, that is NOT allowed here. If you want to post here, follow the rules. You might want to take a look at rule #11. After you do that, please consider getting off your high horse, because no one cares.
