I'm actually going through one right now. It's weird, because sometimes I'm really hot, and can think of all kinds of original thread topics, but then other times, like right now, my threads are pretty much D.O.A., and I can't think of anything original, or informative to post. For those who have also had this problem, do you have any secrets to getting through it, or does the problem usually resolve itself??

When it attacks, I try to stay away from the boards or just read. Then I come back when I got my groove back.

I've been in a posting slump since I registered. I rarely create threads.

I hardly ever create threads...usually just to post a news thread or something. I've gone through times where I feel burnt out posting here but I always seem to get out of them and then I seem to post more than ever. I need another hobby. :lol:

Me too. Although I did go through a period, probably close to a year, where I just didn't come to the boards at all. But this place is very addicting, I can't help but keep coming back.

I've been experiencing a little writers block lately.

I can't seem to come up with some new thread ideas.

There have been times where I come here and just can't find a single thread that interests me. I can scroll for a couple of hours and nothing. It happens to all of us I suppose.

Same here. From the beginning of 2004, to later that year, I was pretty much M.I.A. here at S.O. At the time, I just felt like I wasn't making any worthwhile contributions to the boards, so I left for awhile.

It happens to me all the time, and I hate when it does. As Chit Chat moderator, I feel like it's sort of my responsibilty to come up with interesting topics. Sooner or later, we all come out of the slump.

You got that right. Only the Red Sox slump lasted for about 100 years. :D

When it comes to posting slumps I will stay off for a day or two and come back and be fine. I was in a real long slump in January and took off a whole week and really haven't been in a big slump since.

So then I end up refraining in doing so. I wouldn't want to be one of the only ones doing that....

Dead on arrival. In other words, nobody responds. I always call them dead threads.

im in a small slump as far as creating interesting topics for the boards but i still anwser someone elses posts it least once or twice a day

I came upon it by chance; was looking for a bit of trivia--trying to find an answer about an Andy Griffith episode--another member right away gave me the answer I was looking for. But in the meantime, I discovered this whole new world. Since I've been a T.V. fan for many years, it was a natural match. I registered and have enjoyed visiting sol at least once a day. And although I suspect I'm older than the average sol user (born 1949), I still enjoy the give and take of the boards, although most of my favorite shows were in the 50's and 60's, with only selected ones thereafter, I like being part of this online community. It's fun to discuss an interest we all have in common.

Like one of the posters, at this point I mainly reply to posts, or enjoy reading others. I'm good with that for now.

Yea--i like never start actual threads... I started a bunch on the gilmore girl board, but never here.

Thanks man. Great to be back.

I don't post here a lot now. That will probably change in a few weeks after finals are over. I still come here every day. The only thing is, like Brian said, is that I don't have a lot to talk about since there aren't a lot of topics that interest me.

As for posting threads, I have never really been one to start conversations. I estimate that for every 1 thread I start, I reply to about maybe 200 threads or more. No exaggeration.

I don't really post much anymore, but I never really posted a lot to begin with. It doesn't really matter to me anymore because I'm just content with reading threads.
