View Full Version : Anybody like Marvin Gaye? Brian Damage 04-20-2006, 11:17 AM I love Marvin Gaye songs. I think he was so talented. My favorite song of his is Sexual Healing. Janice 04-20-2006, 11:20 AM I love Marvin Gaye. His rendition of I Heard It Through The Grapevine is the best one, in my opinion. I also love Sexual Healing and What's Going On?. It's such a shame what happened to him in the end. A biopic movie needs to be made on Gaye. He led an exciting life. James"Thunder"Early 04-20-2006, 11:32 AM I love Marvin Gaye. Yes! Yes! Talk about a song that'll give ya chills, try "'Til Tomorrow" from the 'Midnight Love' LP. Put that one on the 'all-time great lovemaking compilation'. ;) Janice 04-20-2006, 11:53 AM Actually Janice, there is a movie in the works, it will star Law & Order actor Jesse L. Martin. That's great and a terrific choice of an actor. Do you know if it's going to be in theaters or a.....tv movie? dandelion wine 04-20-2006, 01:03 PM Love, love, love Marvin! :notworthy "Sexual Healing" "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" "What's Going On" "Let's Get It On" "Got to Give it Up" "Too Busy Thinking About My Baby" "Mercy Mercy Me" Ireneparalegal 04-20-2006, 01:19 PM WTF??? R U Serious?????? But of course..."oooooo Let's Get It On....ooooowwwww, Let's get it on...." it was sad when he was murdered, it was made worse when he was killed two days before my birthday...:( :( :( :( Penny Lane 04-20-2006, 01:23 PM I love Marvin Gaye! Anything that he sings is fine with me!:D But like Janice my favorites are What's Going On and I Heard It Through The Grapevine. isiahthomas 04-21-2006, 05:15 PM Marvin had some serious issues. I read a book about his life. He owed the IRS lots of money and he had a drug problem. He also hated his father. His daughter Nona Gaye is hot. She's a actress and she's been in some movies like The Gospel, XXX State Of The Union with Ice Cube and Samuel Jackson, Crash, Ali. She used to be Prince's girlfriend before she became a actress. She was a singer back in the late 80's i believe. My favorite Marvin songs are Got To Give It Up, Sexual Healing, I Want You, Til Tomorrow, Sanctified Lady. EmoJoe 04-21-2006, 05:16 PM my dad loves him and plays him obsessively so much that i've grown sick of all of his songs. he's talented but my dad overplayed him so much that now i can't stand him. Hollow 04-21-2006, 05:57 PM he's gaye Janice 04-21-2006, 06:00 PM he's gaye I think we need a gaye smilie. :) Brian Damage 04-22-2006, 10:56 AM Wow, Nona Gaye is beautiful. I just don't remember her role in Crash. isiahthomas 04-29-2006, 12:31 PM Brian those are nice pictures of Nona. Like i said, she's a hottie. She was Brendan Fraser's secretary in Crash movie. My other favorite Marvin songs are What's Going On, I Heard It Through The Grapevine(didn't Marvin sing this first before Gladys Knight and the Pips?), After The Dance, Come Live With Me Angel, You Sure Love To Ball, Distant Lover, Inner City Blues, Mercy Mercy Me, How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You, Ain't That Peculiar. I like his duet Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing with Tammi Terrell. Did ya'll know Berry Gordy didn't wanna release What's Going On album because he thought it wasn't going to sell? Marvin and him had a serious argument about this album because Marvin wanted independence and he got tired of the songs Berry wanted to him sing. I'm glad Marvin made that album because at the time, things were going on in the world like the Vietnam war, crime, homelessness and blacks not being able to get jobs. That stuff needed to be sang about. BartSmith 04-29-2006, 02:16 PM I heard that he died because his father shot him over some money...............................:( What a horrible thing to do to your son! :( |
