Who saw the first season episode Beaver's Crush, where Beaver had a huge crush on Miss Canfield? To me, it also showed why Beaver did poorly in school throughout the show's run since he was constantly picked on by Judy Hensler as well as Larry and Whitey. He probably spent most of his time looking at his lovely teachers instead of doing his schoolwork.
