No offense to Cathy Silvers, but I always found Jenny Picallo's character extremely unlikeable. I still have no idea why Chachi and Joanie would hang around with a whiney person who is full of herself. There were times where she almost seems distance to her dates and not to mention manipulative. There is not a lot of nice things I can say about this character. What about you, people?

I didn't like her character either. It was tooooooo overboard. But then again, so was this show. It was time to yank if off the air. The only good episode post-Richie was the finale when Joanie and Chachi married. Did you know Cathy Silvers is the daughter of comedic actor the late Phil Silvers?

The unique thing about Jenny Piccolo is that she was an off-screen character
for many years before Garry Marshall hired Cathy Silvers to bring her to life.
By the way, she appeared in one episode of HAPPY DAYS with her famous dad,
Phil Silvers ("Just a Piccolo").

I remember that particular episode.....she also appeared in an episode of Punky Brewster as the concerned mother with different hair... I still see Jenny in that episode, no matter how many times she changed that hair of hers.

I liked Jenny. She could be a little stuck up sometimes but I thought she was funny.

what fun would it be if EVERY character was nice and sweet and had absolutely no shortcomings?

Jenny made things INTERESTING, even if she did get annoying sometimes :)

The funny thing is that I still saw Jenny when she played the role of the mother in Punky Brewster. I said, "Jenny got married and now named a baby Maxwell. End of story."

I think it was a risky move on the part of the shows producers to introduce a character that had only been talked about but never seen. The things Joanie described about Jenny were always over the top - now someone has to play that character for the first time.

That being said, i thought Cathy Silvers did a good job playing Jenny. She was brassy and funny, and she made Jenny live up to all the hype that had been building about the character over the years.

I thought Cathy Silvers was excellent for the role. She never had any interaction with Richie. I know that they were in different eras. On the last ep, they were in the same scene but never any interaction between the two. Jenny annoyed me, but she did it so well.
