I'll probably borrow the DVD from my friend sometime. He said it was really good.

I'd heard before I saw "Derailed" that it had some twists, so I figured out most of what was going on as it went along, but it was still entertaining. I liked seeing Jennifer Aniston playing against type, but I still think her best film performance so far was in "The Good Girl". Her role in "Derailed" was edgy, but not really the best showcase for her range as an actress.

I got bored and shut it off.

My friend said the same thing, but that the movie gets too predictable at some points.

I didn't think it was all that great.

Anyway, here's my review of Derailed:

I bet you 20 dollars that I can kiss you without ever touching your lips

Too bad this movie never really has anything going for it. Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston seems to be a pretty good starring cast but this thriller never really brings anything. Clive Owen doesn't even seem like he's acting at any of the time and while, the viewer is suppose to feel sympathic for him, I just keep wondering how many times he is going to make the wrong decision. Half the time Owen seems to be out of character, being a different person at home and then a different person with the chemistry or lack of with Aniston. Don't get me wrong, I like Clive Owen has an actor, but the script is so bland that you can't even like the guy. Jennifer Aniston's character isn't even better which seems to be pulling out every sympathy card in the book.

There is nothing that really keeps the viewer interested until the end and the plot pretty much stays the same until it's finale. Guy meets girl. Guy and Girl begin affair. Guy gets mugged & beat up. Girl gets raped. Guy and Girl are scared. Bad guy wants more money. Guy pays. Bad Guy wants even more money. Guy pays. Guy wants revenage. The "finale" as we'll put it, isn't very impressive and almost out of character for Owen's. There isn't anything new brought to the movie. While, the movie is enough for me to sit through, it isn't until the last 15 minutes are you even caring or actually feeling any remote "thrill". It's not horrible, but just barely tolerable.

5/10

I read the book before I saw the movie. The book was better. But I did enjoy
Jennifer A. playing a totally different part than she usually plays.

I seen that it is showing on Showtime, I got to see it, the info makes it sound interesting.
