Ireneparalegal 04-17-2006, 11:30 PM here in my county we have a small town that is very beautiful...it's up in the mountains and many stars live there such as Larry Hagman (JR from Dallas); Mary Steenburgen with Ted Danson; Former Ojai resident currently stars in and won two daytime Emmys for his work on ABC-TV's "All My Children" Michael E. Knight, who attended Matilija Jr. High School and Thacher School in the early 1970s, plays Tad Martin.
All of these celebrities live or have lived in Ojai:
Scott Bakula, Steve Kanaly, Malcolm Macdowell, Rikki Lee Jones, Linda Kelsey, Johnny Cash, John Lennon, Peter Scolari, Bob Emhardt, Peter Strauss, Maynard Ferguson, June Allyson, Eileen Brennan and Ed Begley Jr. In Johnny Cash's movie WALK THE LINE they actually show the hills of Ojai and post the name of Casitas Springs in the scene where they show Joaquin laying in the hammock. Cash's daughters attended the local catholic high school here, St. Bonaventure High School.
Ojai is the television hometown of title characters Steve Austin (The Six Million Dollar Man) and Jaime Sommers (The Bionic Woman), with the shows sometimes set in Ojai.
It is the home of the 101-year-old character Rose DeWitt Bukater (portrayed by Gloria Stuart) in the 1997 blockbuster movie Titanic (Cameron's homage to Ojai resident Beatrice Wood, whom Rose is partially based upon)
PZelda 04-17-2006, 11:38 PM Nobody from my hometown, but Josh Duhamel (http://imdb.com/name/nm0241049/) grew up in Minot, ND, not too far from me. yes, i couldn't remember his name yesterday. He lives in a beach house. I live between Malibu and Santa Barbara, so basically it's like a mecca of stars. Having Highway 1 run right thru our city makes for easy spotting of celebs. We live abt 15 mins. from Malibu so when the weekend is nice and sunny we will go up to eat at Neptunes Net, a popular outdoor restaurant that is real comfy, casual and cozy. Many celebs in that area. I guess we take it for granted here.

Ireneparalegal 04-18-2006, 04:12 PM Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village are really packed with celebs as well.
They sure are. My boyfriend works in Westlake Village and he had Maureen McCormick (Marcia Brady) go into this work and just last week one of the actresses from Law and Order was there. And the brother of the late Karen Carpenter went into his work too. Where he works they sell very expensive granite, marble, etc. for re-doing your house/kitchen, etc.
Many celebs love that area.
