I have a different favorite meat every week. I get sick of one and then I have another and then its my favorite and then I want the first one again. Janice 04-17-2006, 02:18 PM Chicken is my favorite. I mistakenly thought meat referred to beef. Fleet 04-17-2006, 03:45 PM Steak, practically any cut. swedeace 04-17-2006, 04:19 PM Just about all. It really depends on my mood. I can crave certain meats on certain times, and then I will crave other types of meats on other times. Anything ranging from chicken to fish to steak to poultry to pork to cow tongue to beef tripe and so on. I am not just into ham or lamb meat, but if it's cooked a certain way, then I can enjoy them as well. Mijada 04-17-2006, 04:36 PM Steak with a lot of blood dripping out of it. peter may 04-17-2006, 04:56 PM I remember a few months back i was in the Stuart Anderson Black angus steakhouse in Burbank, Los Angeles and had the BEST steak ive ever eaten in my life - a full pound of prime rib - absolutely delicious and a terrific restaurant, if any of u guys live near one id highly recommend it Fleet 04-17-2006, 05:04 PM I remember a few months back i was in the Stuart Anderson Black angus steakhouse in Burbank, Los Angeles and had the BEST steak ive ever eaten in my life - a full pound of prime rib - absolutely delicious and a terrific restaurant, if any of u guys live near one id highly recommend it I have been to the Black Angus in Northridge. It is a good restaurant. Ruth's Chris steakhouse is also supposed to be one of the best around (expensive, though). Janice 04-17-2006, 05:08 PM Ruth's Chris steakhouse is also supposed to be one of the best around (expensive, though). Sean Hannity's favorite restaurant. :D Dutabi84 04-17-2006, 05:45 PM I'll take a big fat cut of prime rib. The redder, the better. Czas na Zywiec 04-17-2006, 08:17 PM http://www.andysdeli.com/shop/images/Wiejska%20Brand%20Polish%20Sausage_Kielbasa%20Wiejska.jpg http://www.andysdeli.com/shop/images/Zywiecka%20Brnad%20Smoked%20Sausage.jpg http://www.andysdeli.com/shop/images/Kabanosy.jpg http://www.andysdeli.com/shop/images/Juniper%20Berry%20Smoke%20Sausage_Kielbasa%20Jalowcowa.jpg Courtnee 04-17-2006, 09:20 PM heh. you said meat. swedeace 04-17-2006, 10:25 PM Czas na Zywiec, Mmmmm.... European-style deli meats with cheeses, breads, crackers...the typical Euro breakfast rocks!!! Czas na Zywiec 04-17-2006, 10:30 PM There's a few delis out here that sell my sausages, but not too many. Most of the REAL good stuff you can get all over Chicago. Some places even have better tasting sausage than the kind you can get it Europe. :liplick: Janice 04-17-2006, 11:05 PM I add Polish Kielbasa to this. My husband loves it. So easy to fix, and a one pot meal. http://www.zatarain.com/images/products/7142909523.gif Dude111 05-03-2023, 02:24 AM Hamburgers or Hot dogs (Even cold) I also love Chicken Nuggets but wish I could find DARK MEAT ones like Mcdonalds used to sell........ I have Peter D'Adamo to thank for my health. I eat chicken and turkey. biffbronson 05-08-2023, 08:32 PM I'm a gyros fanatic, so most any meat used to make them: usually beef & lamb combined; oftentimes pork, sometimes chicken or turkey. Not easy to name a favorite. 289416 icecream 05-08-2023, 10:12 PM I'm a gyros fanatic, so most any meat used to make them: usually beef & lamb combined; oftentimes pork, sometimes chicken or turkey. Not easy to name a favorite. 289416Gyro meat is great. But I don't like the sauce that comes with it on restaurant sandwiches, would be nice to get just gyro meat at the grocery store. biffbronson 05-09-2023, 04:24 AM In the past I've found frozen gyro kits -- a box in which the meat, sauce, and pita bread are all packaged separately. That would work well for you. JamesG 05-09-2023, 07:57 AM I don't like ham or corned beef, but I pretty much eat all other meats. I also like trying different cultures - Kosher, Halal, Asian, Greek, Italian.. as they prepare them differently. MISST3 05-10-2023, 07:42 PM The more I look at Meat and think about Meat, I think I could become a Vegetarian. I've been eating more and more meatless meals, and I don't miss Meat as much as I thought I would. I wish I had more Meatless meal ideas. Anybody have any meatless recipes? Caroline13 05-12-2023, 09:34 PM I like all meats from all cultures, but eat so much less now, but a little since I like the energy lift from the iron in red meats, but again so little. Penny Lane 05-13-2023, 01:01 PM Chicken especially KFC Caroline13 05-13-2023, 01:52 PM Penny, the KFC is loaded with sodium and other processings. Penny Lane 05-13-2023, 01:58 PM Penny, the KFC is loaded with sodium and other processings. I know! That's why it tastes so good! I probably only eat KFC a couple of times a year. At home I bake my chicken..I also like chicken in a chef's salad :) biffbronson 05-13-2023, 04:06 PM I just bought a 3 & 1/2 pound box of frozen chicken strips (for $5.99 (56 oz.), a really great price). Normally I wouldn't buy that much, but I'm having the children of my cousins visiting from overseas this summer. I like to dip that type of chicken product in a ranch sauce myself. Normally I wouldn't buy that much, but I'm having the children of my cousins visiting from overseas this summer. I like to dip that type of chicken product in a ranch sauce myself. The quantity is there, but the quality?? I have not purchased Cooked Chicken Strips, but looking at the place where I get my food, these look pretty healthy, no steroids, antiobiotcs etc....I may try these soon. https://www.pavilions.com/shop/product-details.970516431.html Oh these look pretty good as well, and less sodium. https://www.pavilions.com/shop/product-details.188660214.html biffbronson 05-14-2023, 08:45 AM They're made with whole-grain breading and the original price was $11.99. That's why it's to your advantage to look for products a store decides to stop carrying. Overpricing may be to blame rather than poor quality. Overpricing may be to blame rather than poor quality. We all believe what we choose to..The strips are loaded with breading for the most part, one can hardly find/taste the meat. biffbronson 05-15-2023, 06:18 AM What I "believe" is that I'm neither a gourmand nor a health-food expert. And judging by how popular chicken strips, chicken nuggets, popcorn chicken, chicken fingers etc. are, I'm far from alone. You've just condemned an entire industry -- if everyone agreed with you, the economic impact would devastate many manufacturers, retailers, and restaurants in the U.S. that carry chicken products. When someone gives me their opinion, I consider it and take it under advisement. But when a product is "good enough for me," I won't be dropping it anytime soon. You mentioned in another thread that the members here want their "junk food." I'm not convinced that anyone at this site, myself included, is able to draw the line precisely between what falls under "junk" and what doesn't. If you believe you can, fine. Caroline13 05-15-2023, 03:08 PM Biff, I didn't condem the whole industry, you just love to pick and choose my words and thoughts for me....I said in a post that I may be trying the strips I posted their links.... And yes those processed chicken things are full of breading and vegetable grease. And my comments here don't condem the industry...geeeeeeeezzzz . The processing of foods industries will continue on. I've been eating more and more meatless meals, and I don't miss Meat as much as I thought I would. I wish I had more Meatless meal ideas. Anybody have any meatless recipes? You can get Quorn from the health store and add it to vegetables. Lots of recipes online. There's also Linda McCartney vegetarian sausages which I cook in extra virgin olive oil. I do confess I like meat though and since man has been eating it for well over 2 million years I don't see why I should renounce. TJ 05-15-2023, 08:52 PM I had to edit the thread title from favourite to favorite. It was bothering me. :) My favorite is steak with A1 Sauce. I don't get to have it very often. biffbronson 05-15-2023, 09:58 PM You can get Quorn from the health store and add it to vegetables. Lots of recipes online. I've had that before. There are other meat substitutes I've found to my liking, like the MorningStar Farms, Amy's, and Boca brands. I had to edit the thread title from favourite to favorite. It was bothering me. :) That was the neighbourly thing to do, although a UK or Canadian spelling can add colour in a favourable way. I hope you didn't have to labour too hard to make the change, and I'm glad that many here have discovered meats such that they savour the flavour. ;) Steve_uk 05-16-2023, 02:48 PM I've had that before. I do hope members will humour me and I would add in my defence I am not well-travelled. Your difference in some spellings does not bother me for a second. I know that I mis-spell words and don't fret about that and don't fret about others "mistakes".... I'm not a soul worrying about perfection... Penny Lane 05-16-2023, 06:08 PM Spelling can be a risky manoeuvre and I have no wish to cause offence. I do hope members will humour me and I would add in my defence I am not well-travelled. Doesn't bother me!:wave: biffbronson 05-17-2023, 05:09 AM Steve_UK did not originate the thread, so it's puzzling as to why he's apologizing for anything. I was not criticizing in any way, it was an attempt at humor/humour pointing out the different spellings - British vs. American. Neither spelling is a "mistake" and neither "bothers" me. Every day I'm editing online info that uses both "color" and "colour" depending on country of origin. It's more than a little frustrating when practically everything I write is either taken the wrong way, or something I mention I like to eat is attacked as a poor choice.
