The fact that THat's My Mama was cancelled should have been enough for the creators of this show to know that Single parent family was not working on a sitcom. A mother on a sitcom without a Husband makes her existence POINTLESS. The writers finally figured it out but it wasn't until season 2. Thats why her role decreased because she wasn't NEEDED-lol The episode with Raj and Rerun in their own apartment and Mabel not staying her ass home made me just want to SCREAM!!!!!!!!!. From day one she just was always in the way Constantly in the way and just not fun to watch at all. Mabel should have demanded that her character meet a guy and get married so her role could have increased. But it was no way it was going to increase without a Husband

Her not having a man didn't decrease her role. It was the fact that the writers were more interested focusing on the kids at the soda shop.

Eveyrthing. see the problem is that eventually youngers viewers want to see the kids by themselves and the older viewers want to see the parents or parent with someone in their age group. They could have gave Mabel a FRIEND. But not just her sitting around Dee and Raj and Dwayne and Rerun

You got it all wrong. People would wonder where the parents are, especially the mother. Mabel was working too hard to have a social life, that's reality. They should have gave Dee a friend instead of sitting around Raj's buddies all day long.

When I watched it as a kid and a teen, she didn't bother me. No, I wouldn't want my mother and buddies in the same room while we are hanging out. Most sitcoms do this too.

NO. Because she was just like Willona: Her shady ex shows up, jives her, and she's in love with him again.

There was nothing wrong with having Mabel around. She helped Rerun with the Babba Ram Babba people. She also should've helped Rerun out when the Arab kid hit his car.

I found Mabel hilarious in the episode "Puppy Love" when she thought Raj was going to be a father.

Andy Griffith was widowed and that show lasted 8 seasons.

Plus do you don't that's the reason why TMM was canceled after 2 because of that?

Anytime a show that's more that 1 year means it was being watched by enough people for it to be renewed.

Plus WH ran 3 years which is much better.
